LoneStar Speedway Primed for 2013 Racing Season

TX (3/6/13) by DarinShort.com. The new LoneStar Speedway (LSS) schedule
for the 2013 racing season is now available for view & printing
from the track website www.LoneStarSpeedway.com .
There
will be three divisions racing for the track point’s championship &
point’s fund. Those classes are Modifieds, Limited Modifieds and
Factory Stocks. Last year there was over $10,000 in cash distributed to
top point’s drivers; and there is a guaranteed $10,000 posted for 2013.
The
first point’s race of the season is scheduled for Saturday, March 23rd
and will feature $1,000 to win Modifieds; plus Factory Stocks and
Limited Modifieds. This will also be the first appearance of a new
division at LSS, which is the Beginner Factory Stocks. This will also be
the only appearance of the Easter Bunny…which will keep youngsters
engaged during the massive Easter Egg hunt. Drivers are urged to bring
Easter Eggs as well.
Rules and purse structure for each division are also posted at the track website.
The
second race of the season is the highly anticipated return of the Lucas
Oil Late Model Series (LOS) on Saturday, April 6th and will pay $10,000
to win during the 3rd annual High Banks Havoc.
Last year’s LOS
event produced an intense 50 laps of racing that saw three lead changes
in the last two laps. The track was so fast, many drivers commented that
they felt like they had just completed a hundred lap feature. There was
only one caution flag during the entire feature race.

In
addition, the revitalization of LoneStar Speedway has continued over
the off-season, as track owners Lisa and Sam Hafertepe continue to make
improvements to the facility. Another 15 loads of clay have been added
to the racing surface. This is in addition to the clay that was added
prior to the LoneStar Sprint Nationals this past October. And to help
manicure the racing surface, a maintenance vehicle has been purchased
that features large implement tires; which will aid in prepping. The
existing asphalt driveway behind the main grandstand has been pulled up
and resurfaced with crushed driveway rock, which will make a smoother
ride in and out of the facility for race fans.

specials. Information on those events will be provided during the middle
of the racing season.
