JOHNSON STOPS CLAUSON'S
STREAK IN "COPPER ON DIRT" FINALE

Peoria, AZ……..Ricky Johnson
of Phoenix, Ariz. wheeled the Weiler Farms/Pecon Builders Maxim to victory in
Saturday night's 30-lap "Copper on Dirt" AMSOIL USAC/CRA Sprint Car feature at
Canyon Speedway Park. Johnson passed Bruce St. James on the second lap and led
the rest of the way for the win over Nic Faas, Bryan Clauson, Damion Gardner
and Ryan Bernal. The win stopped Clauson's "sweep" of the weekend races after
he had won both Friday and Saturday's Midgets and Friday's Sprint. Fast
qualifier Mike Spencer was forced out of the feature early with a tire issue.

Good result for the Alexander team against a stellar field. Wouldn't be it be cool If Bryan and Hunter were at The PAS next weekend. The USAC National sprinters don't have anything going on until April.

I'd say that Spencer was out of the race early with a whole lot more than a tire problem.
