$50 pit pass, no purse and a lot of expenses. This class makes no sense from an economical point of view.

Well truth be told, racing doesnt make sense from an economical point of view period. Since we will be there with the 410, we will put a car in the young guns as well. its cheaper than renting the track, and my driver gets seat time in race conditions

Very few types of racing makes economic sense. The much disliked NASCAR (in open wheel circles)does for some teams. But very few of the NASCAR teams are getting sponsorship from a single source for an entire season now. All you can do is hope that someone will take notice that your young gun has talent and takes them under their wing with sponsorship. And for them their is not much reward except that they can say they helped them get to the top. We have all seen lots of talented young drivers that never get that break and slip into obscurity.

Obviously no one is going to make money racing anything on the local scale but it would be nice to at least have the chance to win back the cost of your pit pass. So glad my son went the moto-cross route. A hell of a lot cheaper and so much more fun for the whole family. Well more fun for everyone but the ex but she was the reason we couldn't afford to take him car racing anyways.

Doubt you'll see my son there much, he's out of college and making his own life now. After spending most of the first half of my life at the race track, I only make 2 to 3 races a year, after 8 years driving the family midget I find watching kind of boring to be truthful.

With all due respect if you have not owned a sprint car or two (or 3,4,5.....)you have no idea how much money this commitment takes, even on a B+ level. That speaks to the money, the elbow grease and the time commitment are additional. Racing for free, especially paying to race a sprint car where wrecks and consumable parts are extreme, is, to me, insulting. Every little bit you get back in purse helps a great deal. No, you wont cover your expenses but if you can offset the cost of that night's right rear and the methanol you are just that much closer. And people wonder why the car counts are down.

Good luck to all of you this year. Are the both of you gonna have 410s this year or is one car still a 360 ?
We need more sprint car racing at our home track.

thanks, after last season this team needs a little luck. as of now we are going to be a 2 car, 1 driver team. Bobby has made Denver his new home as of Feb 1st and not sure if he can make it back to race any this season. so AJ will be taking over the 410 and continuing the 360 campaign. laps, laps and more laps. though our focus will be getting him acclomated to the 410, we will run the 360 every chance we get. he put down some good laps saturday in the 360 with a all time best for him at 17.09/17.12.

Add a little money to help these guy's with their expenses and I think you will see more people interested to do this. All the years we raced we did not do it to get rich (trust me far from that), we did do it to make a little money to get us to the next race. You don't have to have $2000 to win but maybe a few bucks and some contingencies to help the car owners with fuel and tires would really help.

we are so lucky just to have a place like the pas that pays close attention to what we want and actually acts on it . yeah we should all get paid just for getting out of bed in the morning ! this class is what it is . why isnt anyone worrying about the seniors getting paid ??!!?? it is a trophy class . the people that race in it fully understand this , just as the people that will participate in the young guns . all you people that are pushing for a paid class need to start asking every business you go in to help one of these young drivers out with 50 $ !! if you really want something there is a point where you need to stop talking and start doing something about it ..
