The racing season got off to a great start this week with the Fast Track Racing Series Late Models as they raced into the sunshine state with three nights of racing at the "Clay by the Bay" East Bay Raceway Park.
For most of the competiters the event was more of a test and tune as Mark Whitener made the three day race a personal best as he won both qualifing nights and the $3,000 to win final Saturday.
Dennis Franklin came as close as anyone as he went home with two seconds and a third place, Dennnis raced his way up from 11th on the starting grid Saturday night to get his second second place finish.
The modifieds move in this week at East Bay as the Winter Nationals continue at the famed track in Gibsonton Fl. Enjoy.
