Was wondering if he was running a 410 at Knoxville this year. Don't care what folks think he should do, but, if anyone has reliable information it would be appreciated.

No idea but I HOPE he has a 410- would be nice to see him at Husets once in a while too.

I doubt you will ever see Clint back at Husets every week. He has been Rubinized one to many times (along with a few others).

I don't understand why everyone bashes the Rubins and other promoters. I don't know them at all but I have talked to more than one driver and they insist the people at Huset's have been great to them, comping them motel rooms, tires, show up money, etc. I sometimes wonder if they just pissed someone off on the way and it is a vendetta. Like I say, I have no interest in the equation but think we should keep and encourage all the promoters we can. Don't start ripping on me, just putting a thought out there.
My wife told me if I went to one more Sprint Car race
she would leave me.................I'm sure gonna miss
that ol' gal.

They cater to all of the "BIG" drivers like Mccarls Jeffery and them that come from Knoxville and other places. Giving them tires to run and show up money is a kick in the nuts for the locals. They are just a bunch of dumbasses and they will never see me race there again or even go watch and give them money.

Garner told me at the Knoxville Raceway banquet in November that he was sticking with 360s. Says it's more cost effective for him, and says 410s "are ticking timebombs." Not ruling out an occasional 410 (Nationals or bigger events) if he can get ahold of one, but was pretty adament about running 360s at Knoxville this year.

I figure it's really up to Al Parker. If Al wants the motor in the 40 to be a 410 it will be. If he doesn't want it to be a 410 it will remain a 360.
I for one don't care either way. I'm just glad that Clint is still racing in 2013 (he could have retired or the owners could have decided to get out of the sport and we'd have one less car to cheer for at the track).

I agree. Clint is fun to watch either in a 360 or a 410. Either way, it is another car on the track.

Sure hope Clint comes to Jackson for the 360 spring nationals in April. He is very fast on the big half mile.

So locals should get tow money? Yeah, they definitely shouldn't give bigger named drivers ANY incentive to show up, that might draw fans, and who wants THAT in this economy? I see what you're saying and understand why it would frustrate you, but look at it from the perspective of enticing fans into the stands...Nothing happens at the racetrack when you don't sell any tickets.

That's what I was thinking. I have heard of promoters giving locals tires, fuel, helping with motor issues, passes, and bringing in more outside cars via tow money and a motel room. It just seems they come under a lot of criticism for not doing something for someone instead of complimenting them for what they do to help the program. I don't think I would want to do it. Sometimes seems like a no-win proposition, especially considering the risk they take. Unless someone posts specific issues you just have to assume it is a personal issue for someone that considered themselves offended by a promoters action.

I really do not care that much as we do not race at Husets. Husets has had problems getting a full field of cars each week. I have seen as few as 9 cars. I guess a promoter has to do what he has to do to keep a class racing.

Ive talked with Matt a few times through offseason ... plans are to run the 360s with 99.9% of their races coming at Knoxville raceway.... probably a race or two at i80...
