DALE BLANEY, SHANNON SALDANA, JOHNNY GIBSON ON "WINGED NATION"
All of That and a Bag of Middleswarth Chips
CONCORD, N.C. -- "Winged Nation" returns for a second big 2013 edition on Tuesday with an impressive line-up of guests: driver Dale Blaney, Shannon Saldana (wife of driver Joey Saldana), and the Voice of the World of Outlaws Johnny Gibson. Also show hosts Kendra Jacobs and Steve Post will be sampling a mainstay in Pennsylvania sprint car racing: Middleswarth Potato Chips.
Blaney is one of the nation's top sprint car drivers. He currently has 93 win on The University of Northwestern Ohio (UNOH) All-Star Circuit of Champions win list, only five shy of the series all-time winner – Kenny Jacobs. Show co-host Kendra Jacobs is Kenny's daughter and her and Blaney are keeping a keen eye on that win total as the 2013 season starts to unfold.
Saldana is the ultimate racers wife; supporting husband Joey's career in every possible way while raising two sons while Joey is on the road racing. It's a lifestyle most don't understand, some detest and Saldana embraces.
Gibson for years has been the travelling "Voice" of the World of Outlaw STP Sprint Cars tour and the most recognizable voice in the sport. Recently, he was honored with the 2012 "Outstanding Contribution to the Sport" award, the highest honor given out by the three panels (410, 360 and non-winged) of the North American Sprint Car Poll.
And, if you hear some munching and crackling bags in the background of this week's "Winged Nation" it will simply be Jacobs and Post sampling Middleswarth chips. The Middleswarth family has been making chips since 1942, and have been long-time car owners on the tough CentralPennsylvania 410 sprint car scene.
"Winged Nation" covers winged sprint car racing across America each week streamed live at noon Eastern and then available on www.MotorRacingNetwork.com throughout the week. Jacobs is the daughter of sprint car legend Kenny Jacobs and a former Miss Knoxville Nationals. Post is a broadcaster with MRN Radio and passionate dirt track racing fan.
