"WINGED NATION" RETURNS FOR THIRD SEASON –
Donny Schatz and Jason Johnson to Highlight Feb. 5 Program
CONCORD, N.C. -- "Winged Nation" returns to MotorRacingNetwork.com for its third season, providing award-winning coverage of winged sprint car racing. Reigning World of Outlaw STP Sprint Car Series Champion Donny Schatz and Jason Johnson, the 2012 American Sprint Car Series Champion, will join co-hosts Kendra Jacobs and Steve Post for the one-hour program.
Schatz and Johnson not only won their series' championships, but both were awarded "Driver of the Year" honors by the North American 410 and 360 Sprint Car Polls respectively. With "not-so-off" off-seasons behind these two, they are gearing up for more success in 2013.
Schatz, who wheels the Tony Stewart-owned car, will be back in search of his sixth World of Outlaws Championship title; but also will be looking for his seventh win in the Knoxville Nationals in August.
Johnson, who is partners with two-time NASCAR Nationwide Series Champion and 2013 Sprint Cup Series Rookie of the Year contender Ricky Stenhouse, will be back to defend his ASCS crown while also competing where the schedule allows in numerous 410 races.
Schatz and Johnson will join Jacobs and Post, who were honored as well this off-season by the North American 410 Sprint Car Poll as "Media Member of the Year." The voting panel for the annual awards is comprised of media members, promoters, sanctioning officials and manufactures and is coordinated by the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum in Knoxville, Iowa.
