No congrat's from me. An award named after Mario should rank diversity high amongst it's criteria. Seb is a one trick pony. Let's see him take a lap at Eldora.

Yes Congrats. They could not have picked a better driver for the award this year.
I don't aim to please.
I aim to hit the target.

Well, I think Seb could do a lap, but I would like to think that Kyle has proved more this year that Seb did. Kyle won in several disaplines, and in cars he was learning. Kyle had my vote, for this reason alone, as I see it Seb won only once he had the best car to do so. Keep in mind that he didn't even win driver of the year amongst Formula 1 team owners, managers. Oh well, this goes to show that Formula 1 is more popular in America than they would lead us to believe, and Dirt Track Racing has much to do in America to get its recognition.

You could hear the disappointment in Mario's voice with that choice.

they could have, but they didn't.
i thought they might be on the right track when mario said the award was based on winning, and the ability to perform in different situations.
i guess that was a load of bull.
too bad the voters didn't follow marios criteria.
to indy and beyond!!

Do these awards really mean anything? I mean, I know the kid stands atop the podium more than just about anyone, 3 years running now. W's speak for themselves. People subjectively picking an racing award winner don't mean a thing to me.

they are just lowering the credibility of the award.
i have nothing against any of the drivers nominated, but when you have an award that is supposed to reward outstanding performance and achievement, and the man it is named after says it is based on winning and diversity, and then the nominee who has won more races in more diverse disciplines over the past two years is overlooked, it just looks weak.
too bad the wine and cheese motorsports people just can't bring themselves to recognize the efforts of the grass roots american racer who shows his skill in several different types of vehicles, instead of a guy that drives a computer controlled by engineers.
it is not vettel's fault he won.

If any of the voters had gone to this years gold cup they would have all been in awe. That race alone would have gotten my vote.
We need more sprint car racing at our home track.

Even your shtick (as tired as it is) doesnt stop the victories from adding up. That's the real award.

i didn't see vettel even attempt to challenge the drivers in PA or tulsa.
as bad as larson got overlooked as the performer of the year, he still made the final cut.

talking about meaningless awards, the SAG awards are tonight. hollywood just loves to tell themselves how good they are. they have something like 80+ awards shows in the year. they even have an award for who had the best award show!
