Nobel Construction and Ocean Speedway announce “Back Row Challenge” for 2013 Taco Bravo Sprint Car Series San Jose CA - JAN 25 2013 – Former San Jose racer Earle Stanton, owner of Nobel Construction, in conjunction with Ocean Speedway, will offer a total of $1500.00 and ten (10) additional Taco Bravo championship points to any driver who can set fast time at any regular Friday night Taco Bravo Series event at Ocean Speedway in 2013 and can also win the “A” main event after choosing to start at the rear of the field. Stanton says he is an old school racer and comes from a time when the fast cars had to start in the back and work their way to the front. He says that he doesn’t get much excitement from watching drivers start up front and win by basically running a 30 lap hot lap session! He says he wants to see the fast guy come from the back and it would be worth the money in sheer entertainment value just to watch someone try it. Stanton also said he knows it can be done because at the end of the season last year Brent Kaeding came from deep in the field to almost win, and Kyle Larson actually won from the back row.

Definitely miss the inverted starts used by the San Diego Racing Association's modified sportsmen in Balboa Stadium and the El Cajon Stock Car Racing Association's super stock at Cajon Speedway. Unfortunately neither venue survives today.

Inversion based on points gained in qualifying and heats detemines your position in the feature, the more points, the further back you start. This is what makes the Trophy Cup the most exciting race in my experience.

It would be interesting to pay on position & passing points , example 1,500 for first 1,500 for the most passing points , if you start @ the back & win it's a 3,000 pay day & would prevent some from sand bagging cuz if you start @ the back & win its 3,000 , if you start on the pole & win it's 1,500 or something like this & as Dave said fast cars @ the back usually produces the best racing @ short tracks
More exciting racing = More Fans in the Stands !

If they had a full inversion at every show there would be riots trying to buy tickets

I miss the old NARC line up. Drop this Ted Johnson Outlaw line up with the fifth heat . Play the restart cones, turn three then middle of turn three, now turn four where it all started back in the days.
