Apparently, his head and neck injuries he suffered earlier in the year were much more severe than previously thought. He needs some time off to get healthy. What a shame, to have to give up his fourth consecutive Knoxville point championship when he was firmly in 2nd, just a few points out of first, coming into the point of the season when he does best, when the track gets really slick. And to be in 2nd at this point, when he hasn't even been close to 100%. Get well soon.

Get well soon, Jake. Reading the Knoxville results tonight just didn't seem right without your name in them.

They announced at the track that he was racing elsewhere. Didn't sound like him to be racing elsewhere when he hald two features to compete in at Knoxville.
My wife told me if I went to one more Sprint Car race
she would leave me.................I'm sure gonna miss
that ol' gal.

The track announcers did NOT say he was racing elsewhere. They said he was apparently taking some time off and they did not believe he was racing elsewhere.

On the radio this morning (Monday), they said Jake had some motor issues and his motor was not back for Saturday night, thus the no-show. It was KNIA though, so take it for what it's worth.

I would say that Jake is just taking some time off. He wasn't at Husets last night either and I doubt he has both his 360 and 410 engines in the shop...CZ

This is not a motor issue. It's a health issue. Let's just hope he can make it back and isn't career ending.
