I am looking for the history of a 1982 Nance sprint car frame that was purchased from E-bay some time ago.The gentleman who won it was from Pennsylvania. He said the car was picked up from southern Indiana and not far from Louisville KY. The chassis came with a tailtank which was white I believe with other multiple trim colors, maybe black and yellow. The number was 44 and was in shiny type decal. What I see different on this frame compared to another "82 I had is the upright behind the front axle and before the radius rod mount is angled instead of straight up and down, and appears to be in the original position.Would anyone remember anything about this particular car? thanks,

Not sure if he'd know the history of this particular car, but George Bischoff would probably know the design. He was pretty tight with Lavern Nance back in the day.
Now if you could only find George. After a long stint working for Darrel Waltrip, his last known wherabouts - to me, anyway - was Florida - running charter fishing boats. But that is even dated information.
George tweaked one of these from that era. Set fast time at East Bay and made Open Wheel.
Who knows, maybe it's one of George's cars?
If nothing else, thanks for letting me reminisce.

I truly KNOW your pain. They told me George had a Trevis up there for sale. $850. Since I had two or three Trevis at the time, I didn't go up. Found out later it was the second monoque. Traced it to a former owner in New York and he couldn't remember who he sold it to. Like I said, I KNOW your pain.
