Just read on the WoO website that Johnny Gibson was awarded the Outstanding Contribution to the Sport Award by the North American Sprint Car Poll. He has announced over Congrats Johnny, always nice hearing you at the Outlaw events.

I'm proud to say I knew him way back when he was simply a long-haired rockband drummer/sprint car fan... he's sacrificed and given a LOT over the years to "live the dream" and get to where he is today. Congrats Gib! Well deserved!!

John Gibson's gift to the racing world has been his remarkable knowledge of the subject as well as his identifiable voice and style. There have been many voices over the years that immediately identified the speaker, but John's has become synonomous with "THE WORLD OF OUTLAWS", and informs us that we are about to witness outstanding performances and championship talent.
He is ranked right up there with the sounds of Chris Economaki,Tom Carnegi and Howard Cosell.
Congratulations to a multi talented individual that adds lustre to our sport.

He's outstanding, and maintains an amazing freshness with his work for someone who has traveled and seen so much.
