Planning my first Indiana Sprint Week. Would like to know if Indianapolis is central location to all the tracks? I will sincerely appreciate any input from some Sprint Week veterans who travel from So. California. Thanks in advance.

Yes, Indianapolis is mor or less central to all the tracks. Lawrenceburg and Haubstadt are the longest drives.

I did the 2012 Sprint Week by myself. It was expensive but worth the money. If you can don't fly out until Mon.,last year they had to run Linclon Park on Sun.night due to a rain-out.In fact there were 2 make-up nights, the other was Kokomo.I also did my hotels res.on the fly because of that possibility. It's a great trip(lots of driving) I may even do it again this year or maybe just the Kokomo Smack-down later this summer.

Guessing alot of people stay in Indianapolis but I tried to stay as close to the tracks as possible to avoid driving late at night. I believe most tracks except Lawrenceburg and Haubstabt are within an hour or so of indy. I had to repack a few times, but for me it was worth it. GO TO THE TRACKS EARLY TO GET SEATS, not like CA where you can show up at 5pm to get a good seat. I went to Gas City around 3pm one night, and the only seat I got was down low. At gas city you almost sit on the track, the guys in the top rows even get mud thrown on them, did I mention I was sitting downlow, never have I had so much dirt/clay in my hair. I think some guys rope off the top rows at Gas City for the whole seasn, no $hit. Make sure you go to the INDY 500 museum and do the extra tour when they take you all around the track and facility, one of the coolest things I have done. Drink plenty of liquids (not necessarily beer, but try to keep hydrated as it can be very hot and humid. I remember feeling like being in an oven at Terre Haute under the grandstands, ps make sure you check out the infield at Terre Haute at least for a practice session or two, hell alot of people just party inthe infield too. Also keep your options open, one night Gas CIty rained out and I high tailed it too ELdora for the Kings Royal. Your best bit for advise is to check out Indiana Open wheel, those guys are real friendly and gave tips for where to stay, eat, road conditions, etc. Have fun, wish I could go aback again.
