I just read that Hooker Hood had passed away. Thoughts & prayers to the family, and God speed to a true racing legend.
I am lucky enough to work at one of the best tracks
anywhere.

RIP Hooker Hood, a true racing legend and a National Sprint Car Hall of Fame indfuctee. Hooker, along with his son Ricky, make up one4 of the few father-son duos that have been inducted into thr Hall of Fame ! Glad to know that Hooker was inducted BEFORE he passed away, as the recognition while alive means that he got to enjoy the fame that comes with such an honor ! RIP Hooker Hood, and prayers to Ricky, Stormi, Misti, and the rest of his family!

I have known Hooker and Ricky all my Life,, My grandparents lived in prospect park,, The hoods was like family to us ,, and i grew up watching races at Riverside ,,, I have many great memories of Hooker ,, I am so sad to hear he has passed ,, Hooker let me get in his car when i was little and hold the flag after he won ,, He was a Legend of stock car for sure ,, he made it what it is today,, R.I.P Hooker Hood (99)

I had the honor of meeting Hooker at Knoxville the last year he ran the masters classic. He was an amazing person. He sat around telling stories of the good ol days and everyone was hanging on his every word! He told me how he made his own chassis by bending tubing around trees. Depending on what size bend he needed, hewould different trees. They don't make em like Hooker any more. He was a true legend and I consider myself very blessed to have met him. RIP Hooker!!!
