Go to ebay and search for " Losi, slider." Losi made these sprint cars several years ago. They have since ceased production of them and now just make off road trucks. They made them in 1/18th or a 1/10th scale. You can also do some searching around the internet as well and maybe find a new one in box. I have seen new 1/18th scale cars for around $100 and 1/10th scale around $200+. There are a lot of used cars out there for sale and also a lot of parts to keep them going.

Losi no longer makes the Sliders. You can get them on ebay but the time is coming pretty quickly where you will not be able to get parts for them. Custom Works is one of the leading manufacturers. There is also a fellow who goes by Lazer Mike that makes R/C Sprinters, I think you can find him on Dirt Oval.com. You will find just about anything that you want for R/C Sprint Car racing on that website. It is a lot like Hoseheads, just for R/C cars. There are a couple of cheap cars that are designed to run on carpet and then there are the dirt cars that can be quite expensive. A current Custom Works car is in the $325 to $400 neighborhood (NEW) without motor or electronics. Like real race cars, they can get pretty expensive. You can find them used in many different brands on Dirt Oval in the classified section in the forums. Good luck.

Go to www.bartspartsrc.com he builds really nice cars. Custom Works are real good if you want a real R/C car to race or a HyperDrive Hustler sprint car is also a good choice. Both of these have great support when you have questions on set ups. They make both styles of these cars for loose and high traction tracks. talk to Charlie at Teas Hobby Shop 1-800-503-8327 or visit www.teashobbyshop.com in Rochester, MN. I have a couple cars I might sell if you are interested. Lancebuilt sprint cars are a wire frame design that you can use Associated B4 buggy parts to build. Look up Lancebuilt of FB to see his cars. he does wraps also that are real nice. You can spend $1000.00 real easy just getting into this sport of R/C racing... www.dirtoval.com is a great source of information also...

I have a Customs Works sprint car and I love it. Ive been racing RC sprints for 3 years now. Its a blast and very realalistic. Just 1 turn in or out on a shock collar can make all the difference in the world. Here is all the things you can adjust on these cars when you are racing.

Shocks

Different oil weights

Different springs for shiftness

Able to turn collar to compress or uncompress spring

Able to change position/location/angle of shock on arm

Motors

Depends what class you run, but different motors for speed.

Change pinion and spur gears for different ratios

Wings

You can change the angle of your top and nose wings. Not while you are driving though. Although I'm sure before long you'll be able to do it while out there on the track.

Wheels

You can adjust camber to have your tires leaning in or out

You can get different blocks for degrees of rear tow in or tow out

Depending on the rules there are many different tires to choose from

Im sure there is a few things I'm forgetting but it's a fun hobby to be involved in. Now if you want to race and you are starting out with nothing like I did you are looking at around 1,500 bucks to get started. Car, motors, controller, batteries, battery charger, pit table, servo, speed control and graphics on the car. Once you get all that stuff you'll want spare parts, different gears etc. I really like the CW car and wherever you race these Ill be almost certain that they have CW spare parts there which is another nice thing about having a CW car. HyperDrive and Murfdogg is the other 2 companies that make these. Have fun and hope you get involved in the hobby.

There are some extremely high quality RC Sprint Cars available on the market today. Look around before you invest your hard earned money. BMS make a nice car as does Murfdogg, out west. Check out DirtOval.com, as suggested above, for the best information.

If they made them with a camera in the cockpit and you raced looking into your monitor I would buy into r/c cars. That would be realistic !

Figures I don't hear from you when the 12-0 Buckeyes kicked you big red flag boys' asses all over!! How ya doin Tubby? Ya wanna buy a tattoo ? I can get ya a deal in C-Bus!! No, I'm not gonna drive one!! Hell , you know me....I stick to driving slot cars!!! Mother took a fall & is in recovery so we aren't gonna make Tulsa this year. You know that if by some miracle you would have success in the tourney I would be expecting a phone call! In reality though, you know the only way that could happen is if I stay in the garage!!!!!!!HAHAHAHA!!! With the height advantage I have, I know you've been getting frustrated over the past few years!!! Oh, the R/C cars are for a mate in AU. He'll probably shit when he reads this stuff! A lot of good info here.

These are 1/4 scale RC cars. Both nascar type and sprint. The most fun of all rc scales.

From a buddy in-car. His sprinter is on the track with some short course trucks, but you can see they move pretty much like a real car / truck

I watched the 1/4 scale cars at the nationals one afternoon, thier pretty detailed pieces, they look extreemly addictive and quite costly , but, as compaired to the real thing its a inexpesive alternative, quite impressive mini machines , not much unnoticed from the real thing and some exceptional craftmanship..

here in Ohio we had a small group of guys that ran 1/10 scale RC sprint cars built from music wire.. we made a jig plate and a small wire bender to constructs the frames, the frames were built one side at a time in the jig and then brazed together, they had front & rear bumpers and nerf bars just like a real sprint car..a very good friend of mine had a wing business for sprints and we would also build mini versions of real wings by making a center section out of aluminum with lexan side boards..these cars were so much more "realistic" than the plastic cars like custom works make..good times for sure!

I've seen those wire chassis sprints before. Nice.

This is at Freddie's Hobbies & Raceway, Ravenna, Ohio.....The actual race starts @ 3:45. My favorite part is the 9:37 mark. :-)

This weekly race is 120 laps, with a fuel stop on lap 60 (11:42 mark). The speeds are about 50 to 56 mph on the straights. The track run-line is 425 feet per-lap.
