Santa Maria Speedway’s Ruben and Katy Munoz have announced an action packed 2013 schedule for their first campaign as the promoters of the third of a mile clay oval. The season highlights include stops for the King of the West 410 Winged Sprint Car Series, USAC/CRA Non-Winged 410 Sprint Cars, USAC West Coast 360 Non-Winged Sprint Cars, USAC Midgets, CDCRA Dwarf Cars, West Coast Late Model Shootout Series and a full program of local racing including Super Late Models, Modifieds, Sport Mods, Super Stocks, Hobby Stocks, American Stocks, Mini Stocks and Mini Dwarfs.
“It was our main goal to really focus on our local racer and making them a house hold name and what better way than to have them race more in front of our great fans,” stated Ruben. “I would like to welcome the IMCA Sport Mods to Santa Maria for their inaugural season and hope to have them on the schedule more in 2014.”
The season will begin with practice sessions on March 23rd and 30th. The annual car show at the Town Center Mall will tentatively be held April 6th and 7th. The point’s season will kick off with Super Stocks, Modifieds, NMRA Midgets, Mini Stocks, Okie Bowl Hard Tops and INEX Lmods on April 13th.
The Classic will be held Memorial Day weekend, May 25th and 26th, for two-days of side-by-side action with West Coast Late Model Shootout, Super Stocks, Hobby Stocks, Modifieds, Mini Stocks and Mini-Dwarfs on Saturday night. Sunday’s card will include West Coast Late Model Shootout, Super Stocks, Hobby Stocks, Modifieds, Mini Stocks and Sport Mods.
USAC West Coast 360 Non-Winged Sprint Cars will make two visits, June 15th and July 6th. Ryan Bernal led the series with two wins at the third of a mile track in 2012. Also picking up feature event wins was Richard VanderWeerd and Cory Kruseman, Super Late Models will co-headline with the series on July 6th for the 5th annual Doug Fort Memorial.
USAC/CRA 410 Non-Winged Sprint Cars will return after one of the most dramatic finishes of last season. The series will make their first visit on June 22nd and will co-headline with Super Late Models for the 28th annual Bud Stanfield Memorial. Last season hometown hero Danny Sheridan made a last lap pass by five-time series champion Mike Spencer to find victory lane for the first time at his home track behind the wheel of a 410. Their final appearance will be on August 10th.
June 29th will mark the debut of Kings Speedway’s Winged 360 Rebel Sprint Cars. Joining them will be Modifieds, Hobby Stocks, Sport Mods, Mini Stocks and IMAX Lmods. “We’re very pleased to host the Kings Speedway Rebel Winged 360’s for the first time in track history,” stated Ruben.
King of the West Winged 410 Sprint Car Series will make their return on July 27th. “After a year off, we are very excited to be able to bring back the King of the West. They have always put on great shows,” added Ruben. Also racing that night will be Modifieds, Hobby Stocks, CDCRA Dwarf Cars and Sport Mods.
The Five Star Grafix Modified Clash will be held on August 17th featuring California’s elite Modified drivers in an IMCA All Star Invitational Qualifier Event. Joining them that night will be local Super Late Models and Mini-Dwarfs.
Arguably the biggest single night of stock car racing in the state, the 20th annual Danny and Sandie Simkins Memorial will be held on September 1st featuring West Coast Late Model Shootout Series, Modifieds, Super Stocks, Hobby Stocks, Mini Dwarfs and Sport Mods.
October will host a 150 lap open endure on the 19th and North vs South Dwarf Car Shootout on the 26th. The season will come to an end on November 9th with the East vs West Mini Stock Shootout and Super Stock Side Board and Wing race.

Stephanie: I've learned the hard way myself that long posts written in Google Chrome will not show separated paragraphs. Most people can see the graph separations when the post is made in Internet Explorer.

It does that to me with my Firefox also. The remedy that works for me is to "double space" the paragraphs, pictures and/or new lines. When I hit post, they will shrink one line leaving the posting as was intended.
