We need more sprint car racing at our home track.

He'll make it in 18, and that's why he's alone; no one will ride with him.

Is this Curtis Boyer's first trip to Tulsa? Don't think i've seen him in a seat since his crash at the nats in 2004.

You might want to consider that the weather could be a factor in how long it actually takes you to get there. A couple years ago it took us 27hrs. to get there from So.Cal.,granted we were pulling a race car,but from about 50 miles from the New Mexico border all the way to Santa Rosa NM we barely got over 45mph due to bad road conditions,I spent 4hrs following a snow plow truck at about 20mph from Gallup NM to Grants NM which is around 80 miles in a nasty snow storm, before the snow plow came on the road in front of me I could barely tell where the road actually was.(not fun)
So a word of advice, check the weather before you go,as the weather can get pretty nasty from Flagstaff to the Texas line.

That's some good advice Randy, it's not uncommen for I-40 to have some major problems that time of year. In fact it's calling for a little snow here in Prescott for tomorrow, and more up in Flag both Fri and Sat.
For Flagstaff.
...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 9 PM THIS EVENING TO NOON MST FRIDAY...
* TIMING...SNOW WILL BEGIN AFTER SUNSET THURSDAY EVENING AND WILL BECOME STEADY BY LATE EVENING. SNOW MAY BECOME HEAVY AT TIMES AFTER MIDNIGHT MST...THROUGH EARLY FRIDAY MORNING. PERIODS OF SNOW WILL BECOME SHOWERY AND INTERMITTENT BY FRIDAY AFTERNOON.
* TOTAL ACCUMULATIONS...4 TO 8 INCHES ABOVE 6000 FEET...WITH 6 TO 10 INCHES ABOVE 7000 FEET. LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS OF 12 TO 16 INCHES WILL BE POSSIBLE SOUTH OF FLAGSTAFF CLOSER TO SOUTHERN EDGE OF THE RIM...AND 16 TO 24 INCHES ABOVE 8500 FEET OVER THE SAN FRANCISCO PEAKS.
* OTHER IMPACTS...GUSTY SOUTHWEST WINDS OF 15 TO 25 MPH WILL CAUSE AREAS OF BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW...AND REDUCED VISIBILITY. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW MEANS THAT PERIODS OF FALLING SNOW WILL CAUSE TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR SLIPPERY ROADS AND LIMITED VISIBILITIES. PLAN EXTRA TIME FOR TRAVEL...AND USE CAUTION WHILE DRIVING. TAKE EMERGENCY TRAVEL SUPPLIES INCLUDING WINTER CLOTHING...FOOD... WATER AND A FLASHLIGHT. FOR THE LATEST ROAD CONDITIONS AND CLOSURES...CALL THE ADOT FREEWAY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM AT 1 888 411 7623 OR VISIT THEIR WEB SITE AT WWW.AZ511.COM. ADDITIONAL WEATHER INFORMATION IS ON THE WEB AT WWW.WEATHER.GOV/FLAGSTAFF.
in effect from Thursday, December 13, 9:00 PM until Friday, December 14, 12:00 PM

There will be no No Michael Pickens this year. He is staying at home in NZ to run a sprintcar campaign in Jon Allard's (JA spends each NZ summer here) spare car.

Haven't missed a single Chili Bowl. Of course I'm thankful for only living 25 minutes away.
How many remember the first Bowl? Emmett got on the horn and rounded up some local mini sprints just to make car count. I remember the stands being like a ghost town. Fast forward to today and all I can say is WOW!!
