Was on the Grove forum as well. I know they struggled with car counts at some events but was an otherwise well attended week.
I always thought the Keystone Cup was overkill, given you have a Speedweek already.

Postman, you know how these keyboard jockeys start things. I have not seen any official announcement to this effect. On the Williams Grove message board there is a thread stating no Keystone Cup. A reason given was Port was upset they had to always take a week night over there traditional Saturday night. If my memory serves me correct, the Grandview race will be the only actual loss from last year. The Grove, Lincoln and Port will still run at least regular shows that weekend. Someone on that WG thread says Selinsgrove will still run the Ray Tilly classic that Sunday night. The big loss could be the loss of 5 grand shows to regular paying shows.Stay tuned

haha, I don't think anyone said there wouldn't be racing that weekend, just not the Keystone Cup format. There will actually be 2 lost races as Port ran on Thurs to allow teams to run Lincoln on Sat.

Well, boo hoo on Port, racers are racers,if they don't run Port Royal I can't see why a replacement site can't be found,I think the crowd at Grandview was one of the best attended races , even with the rain out they all returned for the Speedweeks,so let Port hang their head I think other Saturday tracks have done enough over the years to accomodate them. Bedford or even New Egypt can use the dates, yeah I know its not in the Keystone, who really cares,if the money is there they'll show,no fear.Port Royal doesn't want to lose a nickel,it may open their eyes if they are left out for awhile.

Huge sprint car fan here in PA, but glad to see this go away. Too close to speedweek, and car counts really are not that great. I dont blame Port for being upset about not having a weekend night, they are the only track that is doing A LOT of stuff to inprove its facilities and is actually doing a great job at it. So why shouldnt they be rewarded for doing something other tracks dont do??? Maybe im just a lousy fan who would rather watch regular night of handicapped racing then a week full of time trial shows.

Speak for yourself BMB. I look forward to Keystone Cup and Speedweek. Grandview is the one I look forward too the most. If Port or Selinsgrove don't want to take part give the date to Path Valley and Trail-way or even bring Susky back into one of these two weeks.

schedules are in the process of being released...plenty of racing in PA to burn thru the car owner's budget.
I do not blame any track that supports a weekly show for making decisions that look out for their survival...and could give a rat's @ss what modified / late model tracks have to say about the 2-3 sprint races they have a year.
Lincoln 1845 ft/.35 mile T1=118MPH
Eldora 2287 ft/.43mile T3=135MPH
Port 2716 ft/.51 mile T3=TBD
Grove 2792 ft/.53 mile T3=135MPH
Selinsgrove 2847 ft/.54 mile T1=136MPH

I heard they bagged it because they couldn't come up with a more confusing way to lineup the feature.
I love how the Linkin kool-aid drinkers expect that their track gets Saturday night every year.

Take it from current and former car owners, they do NOT like Keystone Cup. 1) too close to full PA Speedweek & 2) with Speedweek too much $$ to spend. There is virtually no time to recover your maintenance program before You are running 8 races in 9 days again. Was a stupid idea from the beginning. If you think it's so easy to afford to run all these races in such short time frames, dollar and time wise, and as one of the 95% of these teams who ARE NOT FULL TIME RACERS then YOU DO IT!
To paraphrase a recent conversation with a former 410 car owner: "all we hear and read about is why don't you do this, why don't you do that. Would be nice to feel like you had the fans in the stands behind you once in awhile. There is no appreciation for the time and money spent and that how we schedule our races is what we want to do and don't feel that it is anyone else's right to question our decision". "Now that we sit in the stands, as fans, it's very discouraging to hear how terribly fans talk about drivers, owners and teams. How they boo them, cheer when they wreck and just total lack of respect for those on the track and their fellow fans (and most especially children) sitting in the stands".

Well Said DustyDevil. All these fans complain about the teams choices and decisions but yet wont fork out the money for the decisions. Everyone wanted hoosiers, they got them back, and I still saw people complaining. The teams who do it full time have a clear understanding of how to make money and survive in this business or they wouldnt be doing it. Kind of like the Zemco car, I dont agree with the Lasoski decision for 13 but I dont pay the bills and for the car so , more power to them

They started the Keystone Cup because Drivers and Owners wanted more Higher paying shows. Now you don't want them.
