2013 RPM Speedway Schedule, Purse & Special Events Unveiled

Crandall TX (12/3/12) by DarinShort.com. This past weekend at the Texas Motorsport Expo in Dallas, attendees had a chance to learn more about 2013 schedule, new increased purses & special events at RPM Speedway in Crandall, Texas.

All of those items are now posted at www.RPMSpeedwayTX.com and are available for viewing and printing.

The Expo also gave race teams and fans a chance to visit with Jason Troutman and Ronny Sigman.

Troutman comments: “We were bombarded with race teams, fans and well wishers at the Expo. It really gives us the added encouragement and determination to do our best in providing everyone a place that they can be proud to call their home track in 2013.”

He adds: “We have also completed our ‘Phase 1’ track reconfiguration and subsequent track testing. It has really opened up the racing surface. We have identified a few additional enhancements we will be making this week, and conducting further testing at that point.”

Fans can expect ‘special’ events each and every race night. Additional touring divisions and featured events will be added to the schedule prior to the race season.

Highlights of the 2013 racing schedule include the $17,000 Grand Re-Opening Blowout & Pre-Race Party, set for Saturday, February 23rd. The pre-race party will take place from 5pm-6:30pm and racing to follow at 7pm. All fans and race teams are invited to the pre-race party. This is also the USRA Modified national points opener, paying $1,500 to win. RaceSaver® sanctioned Sprint Cars will be competing for $1,000 to win; with Limited Modifieds paying $750 to win, plus $400 to win Street Stocks and $300 to win for the Factory Stocks. There are no entry fees.

The point’s season resumes with a traditional Friday night schedule on March 29th and continues weekly through August 16th. Then the track will take a “Fall Break” and come back with a blockbuster event on Friday September 27th which is the RPM Speedway Championship Night.

The RPM Speedway Championship night features a revolutionary new event that rewards drivers in all RPM Speedway divisions that support the track throughout the season by offering them a purse in excess of $25,000 …and race fans quite likely some of the wildest racing of the season.

On RPM Speedway Championship night, the top fifteen 2013 point’s getters, in each division, will automatically be locked into their jumbo-sized purse feature event, straight up, that night.

Each of those drivers will also be admitted into the pits at no charge! To be eligible, drivers must compete at 70% or more of the completed RPM Speedway events in their respective race division and be in the top 15 in RPM points going into the 9/27 event.

All other (legal) drivers can race in the RPM Speedway Championship night, at the fully advertised purse, by simply purchasing their pit pass. There is no entry fee in any race division. Those drivers will fill the balance of the feature field.

So don’t miss out on this huge event set for September 27th, as the USRA Modifieds will be racing for $2,000 to win; RaceSaver Sprints, Limited Modifieds and Street Stocks all pay $1,000 to win and Factory Stocks are $800 to win. This is also a sanctioned USRA Modified national point’s race. Details are at the track website.

The 2013 RPM Speedway season will wrap up with the RPM Nationals on October 11th-12th. Details of this event will be announced at a later date and will include USRA Modified national points.

In addition, RPM Speedway now has two practice dates for drivers to get some laps on the newly reconfigured surface prior to the February 23rd season points opener:

SATURDAY FEBRUARY 9th: Pits open at 1pm, Open Practice for all race divisions until dark. Driver registration will be open from 1pm until 4pm. All pit passes for practice are $20.

(The RPM Speedway office will also be open on SUNDAY FEBRUARY 10th from 1pm til 4pm for drivers wishing to register their cars, but there will be no open practice.)
