I heard there were only 43 of them that had to be jump started after the races!

They were fast when they broke. I only know of 3 there and 2 broke not good odds.

An ok motor in a great car with a strong driver & crew will look good no matter what name badge is on it IMHO. Roush/Yates has an alternative... nothing more & nothing less. You could put a lot of motors in JJ's car that would produce the same results. Is this year any different than last for him? Looks pretty similar from a distance. Even if he said publicly "the motor was all the difference"... he's trying to sell the motor and/or paying for sponsorship in his own way. Good product... but I haven't seen anything to think it's light years ahead of anything else out there. People bought a lot of 360 motors this year from a lot of builders & a handful of teams have the RY product. I liked Jeremy's posts & his knowledge before, don't have any issues with Roush/Yates... but if they were "the thing" everyone would have them.

Guy in Texas...I concur. Especially on a short track. I was just trying to see how many would get there panties in a wad like they usually do when someone steps on their toes. P.S. did you lose a bet? noticed Sammy's pic on your post!!! Life long Kinser fan just having some more fun on a full moon nite.

Only 3 Fords there out of 95 entries but Jason Johnson won Thurs night with one & Jack Dover won Fri night with one/. So not bad.

Ref..as the mayor of Sedalia I'll just assume "sedalia28" is another alias of yours.
Hope you are keeping all the 360's running in your area!

Sedalia: nope, didn't lose a bet. I've had this avatar for a few years here now. Grew up going to Devil's Bowl & watching Sammy run well there & across the country. He has his fans & his detractors; free country & I don't begrudge anyone for it. Lots of reasons why I'm a Sammy fan...90%+ are on-track reasons, which I wish more folks would try sometime. I like Steve more now than I ever did. The King is the best ever... he & Karl were magical together. I just like Sammy more. Gary Wright is my #2 all-timer... Brad Doty... it's been fun being a sprint fan the last 42 years!

Remember this, when it was Payoff time a real motor, real car,and a very real driver, waxed those test block engines ,now you puppies get back under the porch before that man brings that big bad Chevy back out to growl and bite again.

Overall it was a pretty good weekend for the 4 RY Fords. We had Cole Wood, Jason Johnson, Jack Dover and Ricky Stenhouse.
Jason and Jack won their respective prelim features which locked them into the main on Saturday. Ricky finished second in the B. Unfortunately, young Cole Wood did not transfer into the Main on Saturday.
- Jason cut a tire in Saturdays main.
- Ricky broke a drive-line, not an engine in the main
- Jack did break an engine. We are not sure what is broken yet, but we'll see when it gets back. It was not a fresh engine. Jack is still pleased with his Ford engines this year.
Guys, ya'll are right. We have some great teams running our engines. Success is directly related to experiance and the level of preperation from all parties involved. I am a bit biased, I think the RY Ford is the best thing out there. I also NEVER underestimate our competition! There are many great engine shops out there that we are fortunate to race against every weekend. I like to think that I can call many of these shop owners friends. If I have a question I call them, if they have a question they call me. Life is too short to kick dirt in your competator's face. Racing is suppose to be fun isn't?
BTW Some Guy im Texas, Thanks for the kind words!

Devils Bowl was extremely tacky and fast on the Saturday night of the Winternationals. If the motor was all the difference, then it would have shown for sure on that night. JJ was as fast as anyone, but not necessarily faster. I agree with you, he'd be just as fast with any number of engines. I also agree with you that the RY Ford is as good as anything else but not necessarily better.

Mayor of Sedalia? Lost me a little bit....No mayor here just a big Cornell 28 friend since he is one of my old soccer camp kids and former student(kind of). Great kid who I wish had more sponsorship. ( Kind of like 90% of the drivers out there.) 360 cars running good in the Warrior region, just wish there were more of them!

Texas guy...Your right, Sammy is one hell of a shoe and always has been. (Just wish he would man up when he makes a mistake!) 42 years? That makes you an old fart like me. Been goin sprint car racing since the 60's when I was a punk kid. My all time central Missouri driver was Roy Hibbard out of Marshall,Mo. and was lucky enough to see Blundy, Genniten(SP), Utz, Gary Scott,Carson, Ray Lee Goodwin, Parkinson, Weld, The Great Kenny Taylor and many others at State Fair Speedway (half mile and the mile) and Saline County speedway back in the day. Never forget the first time I saw the outlaws in 1979 at I-70 speedway. Full throtle all the way around. Sammy in the white 1n and the King in that ugly old white 11. Been hooked ever since the 60's. Anybody but Schatz.

Thanks for the nice summary Jeremy.
Luna's Ford engine style that won 2 WoO titles and 3
Kings Royals before a weight rule against the best EVER
in their prime and now DOMINATES super dirt late model
racing is no longer allowed/wanted in a WoO sprint
car.... Was Luna a miracle worker?

$50k nascar type motors turning 9500 rpm and making lots of horsepower isn't what built ASCS 360s into the thriving organization it was when Tommy Estes left a couple of years ago. The introduction of those type motors is not a positive step for 80% of the folks who race 360s. There's a place for those motors, it's called World of Outlaws. That's where the money is. 360s were intended to be a cost effective alternative to that. It's absurd to spend that much money for such small purses. ASCS kept it in check for a long time by having strict rules and enforcing those rules. You didn't need the latest and greatest every year to keep up. Unfortunately that isn't the case anymore and the 80% who are the backbone of the organization are the ones who are going to suffer. Just my opinion.
