According to my math, Donny and crew clinched the points title yesterday at Pevely. I believe all's they have to do is show up at Charlotte and sign in and the title is theirs. Can anyone confirm this? My thoughts are the most points you can get at a show are 150 and you get 75 just for showing up. If so, congrats to Donny and the entire STP team, along with TSR on another championship.

Last night on the "live feed" I believe Chris stated something similar to this when a similar question was posed to him. "All Schatz needs to do is take one qualifying lap."
For those who are fans of Schatz that should make them happy.

Does anyone know why Schatz took 2nd in both I-55 features but didn't do an interview for the WoO site, I just thought it was weird when I watched both interviews and the interviewed 1st and 3rd on the one and 1st, 3rd and 4th place in the other. I don't think I've ever seen then interview 4th so I just thought there must be a reason Schatz didn't interview cause it wasn't like they were trying to cut time or something. Just noticed it and thought it was strange, not a big deal

Don't hold me to this as it is just a "rumor" but I heard Schatz was told Larson was in the pits and he went looking for him...to get an autograph!

And if Kyle was smart he would have traded notes on how to get outta the C MAIN in the state of PA.
I don't aim to please.
I aim to hit the target.

seems like he had the championship in the bag when they announced at Nationals STP was the new title sponsor. nobody has had anything for the STP car since. i know. it's not rigged. just makes good pr for the STP car to be the defending champion of the STP world of Outlaws. especially with the new fancy STP semi traveling around. well im done now. im going back under my bridge.

Who gives a shit about your PA crap. It is done and Kyle has had many more victories. Big deal if he didn't make it out of the C in PA. Many more states than just PA and thankfully so.

It is a well known fact Kole that you have hated Schatz for many years now. This was proven the time you flipped the guys off in Schatz's rig rolling down I-29 a couple years back, not to mention the many time's you have taken cheap shots on all the message boards out there. How about the fact that the STP crew along with Donny are the best out there and have been for the past many years. Get over it and move on. Heck, maybe you could find somthing positive to talk about! Now go have another beer with Justin, Evan and the rest of your groupies.

Wish I could dominate across the nation and only struggle at one track I would only see a couple times a year.

STP: I asked it once a month ago but no replies. I remember when drivers/owners complained that Haud was getting special treatment with his Pennzoil-backed car when it was the Pennzoil WoO so Pennzoil quit their sponsorship of the car and just sponsored the series. Any chance that will happen to the STP car next year? Though it did take 2 or 3 years before Pennzoil finally dropped the car sponsorship. It would be understandable that people would think (wrongly I believe) that the series would give preferencial treatment when a call to be made by an official was borderline. Just wondering.

Do you not think this is already happening with this series?

well since Schatz wasnt really bearing down on 1st in points before Nationals and then the big announcement nobody has anything for him. i will say it seems odd. i think it would be a good idea. Stewart can find other sponsors and it wouldnt look bad for Stp. just my pointless 2 cents.

I think Donny has gotten preferencial treatment every time he won the championship, at all the races at tracks all over the country, especially of course there is his preferencial treatment at Knoxville, and I even heard that when he eats at his family's restaurant he gets a 10% discount. Life just not fair. Ain't it amazing what envy and jealousy will cause people to say and think?

? All sorts of PA bashing and I'm pretty sure I'm the only one on this thread that lives here? Not bragging, just saying. 21w just doesn't like Larson, he/she can correct me if I'm wrong but I think they're from the other coast, or at least somewhere in between. Let's get a grip, I'd argue Darrah's performance in CA gets bashed worse on here then Larson's in PA.
Oh, and Donny Schatz won the championship because he's best driver in a sprint car not named Jason Meyers and he has been for the past 7 years. This isn't a new phenomenon, the car just has STP stickers now.

That 15 team found some things that they changed 2 weeks before Knoxville and their success since has nothing to do with STP being named the major sponsor for the outlaws.Only someone who is totally uninformed and maybe a little jealous would imply otherwise. Plus Rick and Donny are a great combo. Together they have 6 Knoxville National wins and at the end of the year they will have 5 WOO Titles together.

Favoritism is a pretty strong accusation to make without any evidence. But STP sponsoring series & one team certainly gives the appearance of a conflict of interest.Maybe they'll change it?
