Who is heading I-55 for the Ironman 55 and a complete show that night! Should be a great day of racing. Making my first trip to I-55 this weekend. Heard it's one of the best tracks and hope the Ironman 55 gets bigger and bigger.

one of the hottest tracks in america hands down.
you can stand right by the fence in three and four, very cool!
Ascot was the greatest of all time..
West Capital wasn't half bad either..
Life is good...

You won't be disappointed
Ironman 55 at 3:00p
Full show that evening with what sounds to be a very good car count shaping up and temps in the 70's!

I like I-55 and I like the WoO. But Im not gonna make the 5 hr ride to watch a daytime show. If they were running a regular show at a regular time Id be there.

They are running a regular show at regular time. Theyre just running the iron man 55 a-main at 330 then at 615 they start the regular outlaw program. It'd be worth your wild to come! youre paying the price of one outlaw show but get to watch two outlaw features!

I know they normally suck, but I miss day shows. Growing up it was an annual trip to Sedalia on Memorial Day (the real Memorial Day) for a day show. Wish I could make it, but can't get off work in time. As long as it doesn't slick off, I-55 puts on the best racing I've ever seen. My favorite, by far, but, like any track, I've also witnessed a couple of slicked off, follow the leader shows, too, but that's not the norm. It's usually 2 or 3 grooves and like bees in a glass jar, or as someone once said about some other track, like fighter jets in a gymnasium.

Anyone know if dirtvision is going to be there again? I paid for the last show and got through the heats so they might consider it done.

Personal Opinion. Day shows suck to no end. I know it is only part of it but usually, not all the time they can never recover the track for the night race and will take rubber early. I hope I'm wrong so enjoy.

|
Saturday
Overcast. Fog early. High of 79F. Breezy. Winds from the South at 10 to 20 mph.
Saturday Night
Overcast with a chance of rain, then a chance of a thunderstorm and rain after midnight. Low of 63F. Breezy. Winds from the South at 15 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 50% with rainfall amounts near 0.3 in. possible.
Weather looking good... rain not til after midnight, I'm sure Ray and the boys will get it in. Amazing, two WoO features, 95 laps of feature racing in one day... Going to be a great show

ok I cannot go so I do not really care, but they are just running couple of sets of hot laps after wheel packing the track, sunny and maybe 70 is big differences than most daytime shows where hot happens with complete show, so the iron man should be good show, there is no reason other than lazy and cheap that a good track can not happen after a day show granted sprint cars are bit harder on track than fender cars but anyone who has ever been to the Boone supernationals know track prep can be done well very fast many times a day

Ray Marler rarely misses on his track prep. He has been at this game for a long time with all of his years at Farmington before joining Schrader in this I-55 venture.

The one thing about Pevely is Ray will try everything he can to have a good track all day and night. Even though it's a door banger track he's a long time sprint car guy and knows what it takes to have a good sprint car show. It doesn't always work out but you can never fault him for not trying. How many tracks have you been to that had 4 big tractors with tillers ready to roll? That's what he had at the last rain out. Wheatland could learn a lot about sprint car track prep by spending some time at Pevely. They'll be prepared this weekend. Let's just hope mother nature cooperates for once this year.

I-55 does track prep right. The 2 Ironmans I have seen are 2 of the most intense races I've ever been to.
