marysville raceway park firsts for me.
1. never been to a race where a car left the park over the back fence. driver ok .great
1. never been to a race where you could not here the anouncer. at all .. terrible. terrible
1. never been to a race where a car flips, driver jumps out runs to another car and beats another driver over his head with his helmet multiple times.. great for the families MRP.
1. and most terrible.. never been to a race where a driver can continue on moving around the track during a red flag, go to the pits change a tire or whatever he did change, come back on the track and continue in his sencond row starting position to finnally win the race.. no wonder they cant get a good car count on an open show..
the racing was exciting i must say.. but as far as everything else that went on i was ashamed and wont recommend anyone going to see the terrible other things that went on ..am i the only one that saw this or can comment . ps. prob. wont be back sorry MRP

I've offered to help MRP with their PA system, since I have a lot of experience in that area, but I was told toward the start of the season that they had a new system on the way and everything was going to be fixed, so they declined my offer. Still a problem, I see... Their announcer drives me nuts anyhow.
That being said, it's too bad you didn't have a good time. That place used to be an absoulute NIGHTMARE, 6, 7, 8 years ago. Paul and Kathy Hawes have done wonders at that place, and the last few times I've been, I've been one hundred percent satisfied. Hell, last time I went, I don't think they had a yellow until the sprint car feature. I have always wondered, though, what would happen if they launched a car over the back stretch fence, since it butts right up against Simpson Lane.

First of all I agree with everything you said except Andy Forsberg did not go to the pits and change a tire get your facts straight, as far has racing is concerned typicall Marysville night this year, race track never opened up for good racing, track way to hooked up ! I thought racing was Boring compared to Chico after they installed new Clay. Terry Schank reminds me of a Bully, Roger fields a car thats always the best in the field at chico Terry tried to take Matt Sweeter out while racing for secound ,Schank Barrel rolled four times he needs a ass whoopin like he got three years ago that landed him in the hospital, again typical Marysville. enough said.

Its one thing to have a lousy PA system, but NO SCORE BOARD almost makes it not worth the trip. Anybody got any video of the helmet beat down?

So Schank "Schanked" it again, eh? Sounds similar to Wednesday night during the Gold Cup.

i dis agree with the forsberg situation he went to pits during red .. did some thing should have started in the back .. hell paulson in the 9 stoped after red to avoid a turned over car and had to go to the back .. they just didnt want to lose him again as a participant..i under stand that its hard to get talent there

Th difference is a closed red compared to an open red. And get your facts straight, the 9 car is the one that tipped over, causing the 81 of Lovell to stop, therefore they both had to go to the back. The Schank deal was out of hand and completely wrong on Schank's part. You can't blame the track for that. I'm sure there will be repercussions for what he did. Hell he was beating on the track owners Son Jeremy! Yeah, Bob Burbach is to soft voiced and needs to speak up, but like Chris said, it's not neccessarily a bad thing, as Bob tends to ramble on meaninglessly sometimes. The infield announcer was loud and clear. Hard to get talent there? Whatever dude..............

Shouldn't matter weather it's open or closed red the car should be shut down as soon as possible. If you have aproblem get a push truck to them & push them to the work area only after the accident scene has Safety & Emergency personnel there.

I completely agree with you, but was just explaining why you either go to the back, or retain your position.

It's all good Big Rob. I kinda felt the same way when Becker passed Forsberg on lap 25 in lapped traffic before the yellow came out. But they revert back one lap for scoring giving Andy the position back, even though i thought it was a lap later already. Oh well, it is what it is, but Becker should have won imo. He was driving his ass off with a broken nose wing and top wing braces, and was still giving Andy everything he could handle...........

Wow, after watching that video I see two things:
1. Driver should be suspended from the track for a minimum of 1 year.
2. With the video as evidence, criminal charges could be pressed. Throwing fists is one thing, but using a helmet as a weapon is another.

After I watched the video all that I can say is Disgusting! Schank should be ashamed. I know he isn't but he ought to be. 1 Year is not enough. I say MRP should ban for life, Jeremy should press charges, and he should be banned from all spec sprint racing for atleast a year.
