$120,000 LoneStar Sprint Nat’ls NEXT WEEK; Enter by 10/8, Save $150
KILGORE TX (10/1/12) by DarinShort.com. The 2nd Annual $120,000 LoneStar
Sprint Nationals (LSN) at LoneStar Speedway in Kilgore Texas is next
weekend (Oct. 11-13), and race teams have through Monday, October 8th to
get registered, thereby saving them $150 compared to waiting to enter
the event upon arrival.
In addition to saving money, pre-registering allows the track to keep
race fans informed as to who is going to be competing at the event. It
also helps the race teams, as driver car numbers and pit parking
requests are being fulfilled on a first-entered basis.
Please click http://www.darinshort.com/SCN.html
to get your team entered with our simple 2-step registration process.
There you can also view the event website, flyer, view the unique LSN
rules, format, view 2011 LSN event video clips and pictures, current
entry list and much, much more.
The LoneStar Sprint Nationals features three days of sprint car-only
racing action at the high-banked 3/8 mile LoneStar Speedway in Kilgore
Texas. Last year drew a total of 131 Sprint Car and RaceSaver® Sprint
Car division entries.
Sprint Car and RaceSaver sprint division teams can continue to enter the
event at no additional fee through Monday of race week (Oct. 8).
However, car numbers and pit parking requests will be fulfilled on a
first-entered basis.
The LSN is a three-day, Sprint Car-only show featuring two divisions:
Winged Sprint Cars and Winged RaceSaver Sprint Cars, and is held at
LoneStar Speedway in Kilgore, TX. LoneStar Speedway is a brightly lit,
fast, high-banked 3/8 mile clay oval. 117 teams participated in 2011,
with over 100 racing each night.
Qualifying night (Thursday/Friday) 30-lap A-features pay $2,000 to win
and $200 to start for the Sprint Car division; and $500 to win and $100
to start for the RaceSaver Sprint Cars. No time trials.
Great American Classics of Lindale Texas has added $250 to win the
RaceSaver Sprint division on the opening night of qualifying, which is
October 11th. Visit them online at http://www.gacmusclecars.com
Saturday night’s Sprint Car division 40-lap 25-car feature pays $13,000
to win and $1,200 to start; and $2,200 to win and $400 to start the
RaceSaver Sprint Car 30-lap 25-car championship race. The LSN is home of
the largest RaceSaver Sprint purse in the U.S.
And as impressive as the purse for this event is, race fans can purchase
a 3-day adult grandstand pass for 1980’s pricing of only $40 upon their
arrival at the track on race night. Or, individual night tickets are
$15 each for Thursday and Friday, and just $20 on Saturday’s blockbuster
event.
The Sprint Car division cars must be ASCS legal, and Sprint Cars will be
teched by ASCS. Drivers competing for Lucas Oil ASCS national series
points will receive show up points for this event as was the case in
2011. The early entry fee for this class remains at $100 for this race
and pit passes are the same as 2011, which are $30 each on Thursday and
Friday; and $35 on Saturday. A 3-day pit pass will be available for $90.
There is roughly an $11,000 increase in the Sprint Division purse
slated for 2012.
RaceSaver Sprint Cars will be teched by RaceSaver.com rules with one
exception. Drivers may choose whether they wish to run the STS or SST
stamped right rear tire – as was the case in 2011. The early entry fee
for this class is $100 for this race and pit passes are the same as
2011, which are $30 each on Thursday and Friday; and $35 on Saturday. A
3-day pit pass will be available for $90. There is roughly a $9,000
purse increase for the RaceSaver Sprint division for 2012.
Here are some advance quick facts for each event:
-Full-field qualifying nights on both Thursday and Friday (Oct. 11-12) for each Sprint Car division.
-Saturday night (Oct. 13) will be C’s, B’s and Championship A-features in both divisions.

-Kids (ages 6-11) just $5. Ages 5 and under free with Adult admission.

-Upgrade any ticket to the reserved section (bucket seats) upon your arrival for $5 per person

-All Pit Passes $30 on Oct. 11-12; $35 on Oct. 13.
-A 3-day discounted pit pass will be sold online through Oct. 8 for $90.
-For LSN Camping information, including the new LoneStar Campground, click: http://www.darinshort.com/SCNcamping.html
-Gates open at 5pm, with racing at 7pm each night.
-The information hub for this event, including online registration, lodging discounts and event flyer is located at: http://www.darinshort.com/SCN.html
-Click http://www.LoneStarSpeedway.com for all track information.
Here are the current confirmed LSN entries as of 10/1/12. There is a

OCT. 3 LSN Morning Update: Reminder,
that starting positions 23-24 in each of the Championship Feature races
for the Sprint Car and RaceSaver Sprint Car divisions will be drawn
from drivers that are pre-entered. Your team must be entered by Monday
night, October 8th to be considered pre-entered and eligible for those
drawings.
The Sprint division feature pays $1,200 to start and
the RaceSaver division pays $400 to start, so that's $3,200 going to
drivers just for getting pre-entered; so don't miss out on the
opportunity!
Here's the official driver entries that were filed on Tuesday, October 2nd:
SPRINT DIVISION:
21k Kennedy, Lou Jr. Winnipeg, Manitoba, CN 23 Bergman, Seth Snohomish, WA 94 Swindell, Jeff Bartlett, TN
RACESAVER DIVISION:
98 Lough, Marvin Ft. Worth, TX 99x Stevens, Dale Scurry, TX
The
10-day weather forecast is now showing the first two days of the LSN in
it, and the general trend is dry conditions and 82 degrees for a high
and 62 degrees for the overnight low; making for stellar racing
conditions. The sun will be going down around 7pm - right as cars come
out on the track nightly.
Please click www.darinshort.com/SCN.html to get your team entered before Monday night's deadline!

OCT. 4 - A.M. LSN UPDATE:
There are now 4 days until 'early entry' to the LoneStar Sprint
Nationals closes. Here are the new entries that arrived on October 3rd.
There are currently sprint car drivers entered from 13 states and
Canada:
SPRINT DIVISION ENTRIES:
11s Wood, Joe Jr. Oklahoma City, OK 11g Goodman, Mike Broken Arrow, OK 99 Bacon, Brady Broken Arrow, OK
RaceSaver DIVISION ENTRIES:
45k Walker, Kolt Graham, TX
To
keep up with the action, I suggest fans get practiced up on their
alphabet, as there are now five #11's entered in the Sprint Car division
alone. (Good thing we're using transponders or the scorers would go
loco!)
Half of the 'with hookups' spots at the new LoneStar
Campground are sold, leaving five. If you're wanting to have camping
with hookups at the track, click www.darinshort.com/SCNcamping.html to get yours - - before they're gone!
Thanks
again for the drivers who are registering early, so we can keep fans up
to date and get your transponders and forms filled out ahead of time.

OCT. 6 LSN MORNING UPDATES:
NOAA now has the entire LSN weekend forecast shown, and the ‘chill’ that’s in the air today will be long gone by then:
Weds through Sat are showing daytime highs in the low to mid-80’s, race
time temps in the 70’s and overnight lows in the 60’s. And they’re
showing a 20% chance of t-storms Weds-Fri and partly cloudy on
Saturday’s finale.
Here are the following new entries were filed on Friday, October 5th:
SPRINT DIVISION ENTRIES:
9 Wright, Gary Hooks, TX
88 Crawley, Tim Benton, AR
RaceSaver DIVISION ENTRIES:
16 Adams, Koty Doyline, LA
Please remember race teams, starting positions 23-24 in each
championship feature will be determined by a random draw of pre-entered
drivers only, so don’t miss out on the $3,200 in free money by getting
entered by 10/8 at: http://www.darinshort.com/SCN.html
And race fans and teams: The LSN is NOT a split-field qualifying format.
All cars are eligible to race all 3 nights.
Qualifying nights (Thu-Fri) pay good money too. The Sprint Car division
races for $2,000 to win and $200 to start (24th) Thursday & Friday;
while the RaceSaver Sprint Car division races for $750/win on Thursday,
$500 to win on Friday and $100 to start (24th) each night.
With $35,000 on the line for the RaceSaver Sprint division alone, that
makes the LSN by far the highest paying race of its kind for this
division in the U.S. And the LSN Sprint Car division purse is in the top
5 Nationally in 2012...and fans get to see it all for a 3-day pass of
just $40!
ALL cars in each of the two sprint divisions can race Thursday and/or
Friday and their high point night will be their official points total
going into Saturday night's finale (with the exception of the top 4
finishers in the A-feature nightly, which are locked in). A driver's low
point night is thrown out and has no impact whatsoever in Saturday
night's line-ups.
For complete rules, purse breakdown and to view more details of our unique format, click the event website link above.
With all of the recent entries, here’s the complete LoneStar Sprint Nationals entry list as of 10/6 AM.
