Rich was actually bumped out of the first heat in a tussle with Jimmy Thompson. Bud & Danny Faria led the points after the heats. Spencer had a tire go down (fast) after a run-in with Kaeding & Bernal in the second qualifier. Bud & Rich led the points after the qualifiers. From the back (of the contenders) in the inverted start of the main: Rich V., Bud, Showtime, Faria, Bernal, Kirkbride, Netto, Brandon Thompson. Spencer was ahead of them all. Spencer had a pretty solid lead much of the way until Bernal closed on him after a late yellow, then Rich passed them both and pulled away. Thus, Rich came from last to win by passing Faria, Sheridan, Kaeding, Bernal and Spencer. Not bad. The track was pretty racey save for the bottoms most of the night. Smallish crowd; too bad. A lot of people missed a very interesting race given the format.
