9/29 LoneStar Speedway: LOTS and LOTS of Updates KILGORE
TX (9/29/12) by DarinShort.com. As of 9AM on Saturday morning,
September 29th the following updates are in effect regarding LoneStar
Speedway:
1. As of 9AM, it has hardly rained at all; but there is
rain in the area, and rain in the forecast through the rest of the day
so we will not be racing tonight, and the race is postponed.
2.
We knowingly are not going to schedule on top of other area tracks that
already have their big fall races; as it is not fair to teams or fans to
have to pick or choose.
3. That being said, this event will now
be contested on Sunday, October 7th; with pits opening at Noon,
Grandstands at 1pm, Track Packing/Hot Laps at 2pm and Racing at 3pm.
4. This is the final points race for all LoneStar Speedway points divisions.
5.
We just checked the long range forecast and all next weekend is showing
great racing conditions with zero chance of rain and high temperatures
of 75 degrees; so it will be perfect for this event rescheduling.
6.
The “Nationals Warm Up” for RaceSaver Sprints will not be rescheduled;
as the $120,000 LoneStar Sprint Nationals takes place later that week,
October 11-13th at LoneStar Speedway.

8.
Any driver wishing to enter the Factory Night Special can do so, at
the pit gate on October 7th at the ‘late’ entry fee of $100 (which is
the same as what it would have been tonight). Click http://www.darinshort.com/FSN.html for the latest in event news.
9.
Details regarding the November 24th Original Turkey Nationals featuring
the $3,500 to win and $500 to start TOPLESS SUPR Late Model Season
Championship will be announced in the next week or so.
Weather caused schedule changes are no fun for anyone, but we feel this is the best solution with the options available to us.
It
also allows LoneStar Speedway points drivers the chance to finish out
their points battle without it being cut short…not to mention the 59
Factory Stock drivers registered for the event who are pensively waiting
to engrave their name on that huge winner’s cup!
