5 months younger than steve and still winning and more to come im sure

In my opinion Steve is falling off, but that's not a jab at him as he is and will always be the the one who dominated the WoO statistically. Take Karl out of the picture and Kinsers numbers would'nt be half of what they are. Sammy on the other hand is his own mechanic and one of the best at that, plus as a driver they don't get any better than him.

It isn't like he eeked out the competition by a couple of wins, he has it by hundreds of wins. So when you sarcastically say he dominated "statistically" there is no other kind of domination. As the great Bill Parcels said "you are as good as your record says you are".

Here we go again! This is why we neeed to give the guy a break. What do you want us to re-hash again? How he pisses and moans as only Sammy can after winning, thowing rocks, taking competitors out under caution, going backward around the track to take out a guy that did nothing wrong, etc! Let's face it....Sammy is a very unique individual. Only he could get away with his shenanigans.

He has to be the one of the greats of the sport. He has the technical ability to make cars fast and handle. Oh yeah, he can drive pretty well too. Everytime he seams to mellow, he pulls something that only Sammy can do. Some will come to his defense because either they are ignorant or they just want to stir the pot. Let's face it he's just Sammy. These "Sammy fans" that start these posts pretend to be supporters, but they are just creating more trouble.

Twenty8 I never cease to be amazed at people coming on here and only ragging on a particular driver.

And, ofcourse, he knows the "ugly truth" about a driver. Where do these people come from and what hit them in the head that causes such hallucinations? Beats me!

My problem is I have an opinion on about every subject. I can not help it. Sammy is a Hall Of Fame driver, but he should also be a Hall Of Fame mechanic. Sammy knows all about shocks, torsion bars , feul systems. It is not that he knows about them, he has taken the time to study them. Sammy also was about the only guy that figured out 4 coil cars. Its a long story, but he had to go back to torsion bars because his chassis builder requested it. How many people dislike Sammy even though he has never in person seen him race? Sammy is not going to change. He goes 100% every race. If you want to see a great driver, watch Sammy.

Will you please stop your senseless posts about Sammy. You are as clueless as the Sammy Fans. It is impossible to read a thread and not lose interest.

First off there was no sarcasm in my post, I have nothing but respect for Steve because as you say he did dominate. BUT, you can't tell me that Steve's success was not a direct reflection of Karl himself. Steve could have done good in any car but Karl's cars were the best period, so as i said, take Karl out of the picture and Steve would not have had such an easy time I promise you that. What I was trying to get at is Sammy (love him or hate him) is the total package when it comes to a driver/mechanic. No two or three man combination could be more efficient than that. He has his struggles just like everybody else and makes mistakes just like everybody else but on any given night there is no one who stands a better chance at winning than him. Steve dominated for a long time and holds records that will never be broken but Sammy is standing the test of time better than anyone out there past or present in the sprint car world because of his ability to wrench a car as well as drive it. Anyone disagree with that?

Steve's dominance from 2002-2005 cemented his greatest ever tag in my opinion. No help from Karl, 4 WoO championships, most wins in that period, 12th Knoxville Nationals, etc....

Before that, you kind of thought it may have been Karl as Mark had a ton of success once Steve left to go to Nascar.
