I was disappointed in the sprint races as well, the track was a joke. Was it a TMS flagman? His starts were crazy, JJ jumped 2 cars on the start before he came out of turn 4 ( he very easily could have won even if it was a good start, he was pretty fast). The track prep was terrible, after 5 laps no one dared to get off the top in 3&4. I was pleasantly surprised at the mods & limited, that track made for some good racing for them, Nice facility, I'll try it again (with my fingers crossed).

Was it simply a matter of too many cars? I wasn't there, but know the counts were high.

There was a fast moving storm system headed right to DFW that developed right as the races started.
So the decision was made to skip the two previously scheduled track prep sessions and get the races in instead. The first, of which, was supposed to be during opening ceremonies - which were essentially skipped too. Driver intros were skipped; etc.
But that decision ensured the races would get completed, and the races for all 275 cars were completed by 11:45pm. And even with having to skip the track rework, there were passes for the lead in all 3 division feature races.
It rained for about 8 solid hours after the races ended Saturday night.
Regarding flagging for the ASCS division, you'll have to direct those questions to ASCS.

In fairness, yes, there were a hell of a lot of laps put on the track. Somewhere around the middle of the show a buddy commented that there had been 2400 racing laps allready laid down. I was not aware of the rains moving in. I appreciate the pace of the show even more with that information. As I said, I will return for the next show, the track will hold the cars 4, maybe 5 wide into the turns if time allows for the ground work,

Nothing wrong with the track from where I was sitting! I was there for the modifieds and they did NOT disappoint!!! That was some of the best racing I have seen all year, all the ASCS did was dry it out worse and drag the show out. I was extremely happy with the racing, the mods were 3 and 4 wide in the qualifiers, the feature was a little less exciting but that's what happens with almost 300 cars. I will never ever ever EVER complain about to many race cars in one place at one time, I loved it! (Except for the sprint cars) The mods have been the stars of the show every time I have been to TMS, the rest is just filler. The limiteds aren't bad, just a little slow for such a big track. I say great job to everyone that had anything to do with that show, I will always come back for more! (Maybe consider bringing the late models back next time)
