I believe knoxville5m brought up a good point about if everyone were to make up a list of the top 12 sprint car drivers today the outlaws would only have about 5-6 drivers on it. So why don't we just make up our lists now and see who we all come up with and let the arguing begin? I will start, but let me first say that this is just my opinion and I do not mean any disrespect by leaving any driver off.

Donny Shatz, Joey Saldana, Craig Dallansky, Sammy Swinndell, Steve Kinser, Kerry Madsen, Tim Keading,Tim Shaffer, Dale Blaney,Kyle Larson (yea, I went there haters), Brian Brown, Greg Hodnett.

If youre talking about a true outlaw, running where he wants, what he wants and as often as he wants. There is no debate about who is at the top of the list..There is only one.

Any driver running where he wants, when he wants too, Wayne Johnson,Tony Bruce, Shane Stewart,Jason Johnson,Paul Mcmahan until yesterday, then you have Steve Smith, actually Danny Lasoski,Tyler Walker when he wants too,Paul Sides,Jason Sides, Donny Schatz running the family car,and just about anyone who doesn't really follow a tour 100% but alot of these are All Stars,ASCS,Wo0,just the way it should be.....not in any particular order either, just names, also Gary Wright and a few more not in my scope right now,not all Wo0 either, now thats who would regard as Outlaws, just get up and go race, anywhere, any time....and they win too.thats the way I see it.

How many sprint car races has Tony Stewart won this year? He might be at least honorable mention on this list.

I like your list. Can be a lot of discussion about switching out drivers like Shane Stewart and Jason Johnson for Greg Hodnett or Dale Blaney. I would agree with that.

BTW--hurricanefan--cant agree with taking Madsen off the list. He has had 5 WOO wins. I think he needs to be on the list. Just my opinion though.

I actually did debate with switching those but I didn't want to start the whole 360vs410 debate that some people like to start on here. There are probably another 6-7drivers that are pretty close to this list also. Also, by the word "Outlaw" I meant if we were to put the top 12 drivers in the nation to tour like the WoO, who would they be. Yes I know that Outlaw means to run whatever/whenever you want to but for the sake of not arguing, the Top 12drivers in the nation today.

Top 12 best on my list is- Mark Dobmeier, Donny Shatz, Sammy Swinndell, Craig Dallansky, Tim Shaffer, Steve Kinser, Kyle Larson, Jason Meyer, Joey Saldana, Jason Johnson, Tony bruce jr, Brian Brown!

But in my opinion Mark Dobmeier is the number one driver in the world today and i think that if he raced with the outlaws he would be winning races and winning champs!

Madsen has to stay on that list, Mark Dobmeier is a no even though the guy is great, he's 2nd in points at Husets and 5th at Knoxville, would easily be leading Grand Forks points if he hadn't missed so many races but top 12 no, best in the world, an easy big fat no.

vande..I like your picks. When I think "outlaw" I don't think solely of the WoO boys. I think of a driver who runs all across the country...regardess of the cubic inches under his hood. Good picks! Smile

Evidently not or he would be driving one. Not a single person on this list drives a xXx. Says it all.
