Hey Pal - I was listening as well. He mentioned it AFTER the interviewer prompted him. BEFORE that, all he talked about was himself and Tony Stewart watching at home.
THIS is the problem. You want to hear what you want to hear. You want to read what you want to read. You put words and emotions into stuff that isn't there. I clearly said now, and before, that I have no issue with him, other than what I clearly state. Don't read anything more into it than that.
Well, maybe you can. Thats if you're reading into it that a$$holezs like yourself can go F yourself. Pal.

First of all "Yung Money" is the name of a popular rap label. So it is a hip nickname, And one of the best I have heard.
And he did mention the kick ball game. and the sponsors.
So I guess it rubbed you the wrong way that he was more concerned with winning, then being a damn informercial..
and if you didn't notice, Sliva's normal "driver" was in the car Larson won two A features in the night before.. This isn't even his car.
Instead of getting "rubbed the wrong way" Sounds like you need to just go "Rub" one out..
|
All you did was repeat what I said. And spew information that is old news to me. Who was driving what car was known months ago, so don't try and pretend I'm the one missing information. All you did was prove what I told the other guy - you Larson fanatics read and hear what you want to and the truth gets left behind for people like me and the car owners he's driving for this week to shake our heads at people like you.
My personal opinion - yung money is a stupid nickname. Deal with it.

Thanks holley...we normally find out there are two sides to most things which end up on here. I really doubt young Larson would intentionally slight any sponsor.

Another brainstormer that forgot to read what I wrote. Good job. More proof of my point. Thanks.

LOL! Shows how much you know Kenny. Just today I had to tell Will 3 times that he's an idiot and he's wrong. I don't think he believed me. All he said was "ya and I don't go to race tracks either."
Hey, I tried.
As for this forum - dude asked a question. Maybe Peter Green answered it better.......

Nice try. But you didn't inform anybody of anything. All you did is bitch about Larson not saying anything about the sponsors for his car,(which he did) Until the interviewer prompted him to say it. and then complained that he mentioned Tony Stewart because he was watching from "3000" miles away.
You didn't once mention it was Shane Stewart's ride
I would get use to hearing the nickname... Lucky for you Mr.Gibson was calling him the NorCal Ninja last night... so you'll have to find something you don't like about that one as well.

I actually like the name NorCal Ninja! Stop reaching.
I didn't mention it was Shane Stewart's ride because I don't seen the relevance to this thread. ??
I did not like the fact that the guy who put him in his car for a high profile race with a high profile sponsor, was not once mentioned. It for sure bothers me much more than it will bother Paul or Jeff Gordon. I was simply using that as the guide to a reason why some people don't stand in awe or appreciate Kyle Larson. You can't change facts. Including the fact that it bothered me, and others.
And yes, I guess Shane does enter into the equation, because Shane Stewart would have never left the people who are working their ass off for him out of the glory.
I'm not jealous or envious of Kyle Larson. In fact, I have and do praise his ability behind the wheel of a race car. I actually praise his ability to remain mostly grounded despite the pressure cooker his life is most certainly to become. So before you want to judge me, just remember.....I'm not the one who started this thread with a question. I'm also not the one to be so idiotic as to twist everything others have to say AND think.
Of course, I'm not sitting behind a fake steering wheel in a fake game, pretending to be something I'm not. Eh Kevin?

Kyle Larson does have the talent, there is not doubt about that!
I think that most short track, open wheel racing fans are afraid he will jump to NASCAR, just like Jeff, Tony and Kasey did. Just imagine how much better open wheel racing would be if those guys ran ran full time with WOO!
|
I'm guessing that Jeff, Kasey & Tony "jumped" to NASCAR so they could make a good living racing. Why did they "jump" from Quarter Midgets to Karts, Mini Sprints to Midgets, Midgets to Sprints/ Silver C& then to Indy Cars & NASCAR????.....So they good make a very good living doing what they love to do...& that's driving race cars! Do you think that if they "stayed" in those other forms of racing that it would be "much better open wheel racing?"
Both Tony & Kasey have put some of their $ back into both USAC & WoO (where they got "noticed" & recently Jeff has put some $ towards Paul Silva/ Shane Stewart.
If Kyle can make it big in NASCAR or Indy Car I say more power to him because he's proven himself in everything he's raced the last year & a half! And if he does, I wouldn't be suprised if he put some of his $ back to where he was "noticed".

"The young man is a better open wheel racer than Tony or Kasey ever were". The key word here is EVER. Quite a statement from a kpederson and no one challenges it here. Tony Stewart is the only person to have won the USAC version of the triple crown in the same year, winning the midget title, the sprint car title and the Silver Crown title, all in the same year. Tony Stewart also won the Indy Series season championship one year before heading off to the fendered cars of Nascar country. He's obviously been pretty successful since leaving the open wheel cars for more fame and much more money.
I don't know much about Kyle Larson other than what I read on this forum and also that he raced at the Knoxville Nationals this year. To top it off, I think most people as well as most "experts" think that Tony Stewart is the greatest driver living today. His achievements in a wide variety of cars certainly points to that. kpederson may have some "crow" to eat in the near future.

WRONG!... JJ Yelley also won all three in the same year, 2003. Where in the hell were you?
His championships in all three of USAC's top divisions in 2003 made him only the second driver, after Tony Stewart in 1995, to achieve the "Triple Crown" in a single season. Stewart was the owner of the Sprint and Silver Crown cars in Yeley's 2003 season; the Midget which Yeley drove in 2003, Steve Lewis' #9, had been driven by Stewart in 1995...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/J._J._Yeley
His stats speak from themselves. Yeley's season produced only the second single-season sweep of USAC's coveted "Triple Crown" of National Championships (Silver Crown, National Sprint Car and National Midget Car titles). The only other to do it… 1995 “Triple Crown” champion and 2002 NASCAR Winston Cup Champion, Tony Stewart, who ironically owns two of the three teams Yeley drove for on his way to the “Triple Crown.”

Blu, you must be talking about a different interview, but in this one, he does exactly what you said he didn't do in another interview, that being mention Paul Silva and Jeff Gordon's Kick-It Cancer research for kids Foundation.
http://vimeo.com/49002680
You are entitled to your opinion, and if you want to condemn him for one interview, that's your choice to do so. I'm going to give him credit for doing what you said he didn't do, in this interview. My suggestion, loosen up the tie a lil bit, chill out, cut the kid some slack, even though this is not your only issue with him, and remember, not every interview is as you think it should be. Not the end of he world 1 interview didnt go the way you thought it should have. Just sharing my opinion. Kyle has been promoting the Kick-it tournament all week in the pits, and is excited for all the donations they are pulling in.

Seems Larson has a lot of passion for racing no matter what he drives just like any super successful driver. No doubt if you have that much passion, aquired experience and continued success it will lead to opportunity with others that can enable a "big time" career. It is probably recognized by those the business Mr. Larson can help be successful for all involved at a higher level. Good luck to him.
