Please say prayers for Steve and the Howard family. Steve has been in I.C.U since the last Perris race after falling ill to a serious illness. Please, out of respect of the family do not bombart the family or business with phone calls.

Steve has done so much for our sport and doesn't expect anything in return just like his dad the late Glen Howard. So Cal Performance has been around for many years and did very well with their frienly, honest and profesional customer service. After the technology era came about the "old school" way of business started to hurt. Many of the local old school racers stayed commited to So Cal but many forgot how much the Howard family done for this sport and went else where. A few weeks ago someone had brought up helping out So Cal by comparing prices and saving on shipping, well the time is now. With all the prayers from our racing family we hope helps speed up the recovery and return of our close friend. Many times I stop in to talk about old times of the Ascot era or just talk about what happen at the last CRA show. Lately all he talked about was the items up for auction and how much extra money he raised for Calistoga and The Glen Howard Memorial. The guy just NEVER stopped caring about his and our passion to keep this sport of sprint car racing alive. So lets give back to him and the Howard family. Al is at the shop when he can so with the end of the season upon us lets help So Cal Performance stay alive with all of our "old school" spirits.

Thanks for taking the time to read this, and thank you for all the prayers for this great family we come to love. I will keep everyone updated on his recovery so once again call the shop for business only 562-862-9122. And if anyone comments about punctuation or mispelled words you are more than welcome to read between the lines on both hands.

Thank You,

Tony Jones

Thank you Tony for reminding all of us how important the Howard family and So Cal Performance has been to all the racers. They are reminiscent of the local neighborhood mom and pop grocery store...what ever you needed they had, and if you couldn't afford to pay, you were good for it next week. How many times have we gone to the track knowing we forgot to buy that bleeder valve...no problem, you could always get it from Howards....bent your last radius rod in the heat...no problem So Cal saves your night. I miss the days at Ascot walking into the trailer to buy some new rubber thinking that 'new tire' was gonna win you the race. Those good feelings are intertwined with the Howard's. The whole family is such an integral part of our racing lives. The Southern California sprint car group is a huge extended family and it's never more apparent than when someone is having a rough time. Get well Steve.
Any updates on Evelyn?

I too send my love and best wishes to both Steve and Evelyn. Ray Scheetz keeps in touch with both daily, and Evelyn called me last night to see how I was feeling (I just had a little cold), but there she is trying to recuperate from a major illness and being thoughtful of others. She is still determined to get back to the racetrack; hopefully for the Howard Memorial on the 15th. Good luck to all that went to Calistoga......and again, my thoughts are with Steve and Evelyn. Get well soon!!!!

Get well soon Steve. When we first met the Howard family buying Parts for our CLS mini sprint In the 90's, we knew we where being well taken care of. Our friendship with Steve has grown over the years. His passion for the sport is pretty amazing. He enjoys the hell out of teaching and sharing the sports history with todays young drivers. The stories he has told Jake and I are amazing. And he is always good for a new dirty joke. We Support you buddy. So Steve, get your grumpy, big heart, butt well again soon. We miss you dude. Seen Steve & his dad at the track many times. Never really talked much to Steve mostly just getting parts for the team and what not. But got to meet him one day while replacing a window in his house. What a great guy !! Sure loves his racing !! Get well soon Steve !!

People like Steve have done so much giving of themselves towards keeping our favorite sport running. Get well Steve, take care of yourself first. The racing will still be here when you get well.

Thoughts and prayers go out to Steve, the man who has so uncondtionally given himself to all of us in this large family. That' what we all are, and when someone is ill or hurting we all rally around to send massive amounts of prayers to the Man above. So, God, please put your arm around Steve and make him strong.... All of us at Moose Racing

There's definitely no place like home. No nurses to wake you up in the middle of the night to see if you're asleep, etc.

Thinking of Steve in Tucson.
