Eckert stayed out of jail long enough to complete a Knoxville Nationals column at http://www.sprintcarstats.com/news/?i=12956

Great column...
Regarding the tension between the WRG and the Knoxville brass, I heard rumors for the last 6 weeks leading up to the Nationals that the WoO were considering barring their teams from running the Cappi Classic on Sunday because Knoxville wouldn't make it an Outlaw show....
From the sounds of it, they threatened to dock points and not all teams ended up running (which outside of Steve and Kraig, it sounded like ALL the remaining platinum teams had planned on it)

"less than truthful" in reference to Chris Luck? No need to elaborate there and probably the most candid thing that Jason has ever been quoted as saying. Was he drunk at the time? (joke people - joke). Of course the statement makes him look "less than truthful" when you compare it to his "official" stated reason for why he "retired" but many knew it was bullshit from the git-go. Jeff Gordan was the main guest speaker at the media luncheon during '93 Nationals which was my first so he has been there since '89.

The winningest open wheel driver in the world brings a new and more importantly unique engine, passes more cars than most during the week with it and not a word? A billion words about Steve and Sammy have been typed...how about some attention to the only pinch of fresh engineering in our otherwise stale sport!
Luna's Ford engine style that won 2 WoO titles and 3
Kings Royals before a weight rule against the best EVER
in their prime and now DOMINATES super dirt late model
racing is no longer allowed/wanted in a WoO sprint
car.... Was Luna a miracle worker?
