Is there any chance Victorville could add a National USAC sprint car race the day after the Oval Nationals. All the teams are already here, fans have flown out from all around the country.
Obviously, money is an issue. Is there anyway USAC, Racers and Vicotroville could work something out?
USAC Sprint car teams do not race for the $, but for the love of the sport. If the teams already towed out from the Midwest, I am pretty sure they would love to race another night.
I as a fan would be willing to spend Perris Oval Nationals, admission money to watch another race on Sunday.
This would be good for Perris too. More fans and cars would come out to Perris if they got to see another night racing especially at a different track.
If $ is the only stumbling block, make it a CRA race and I bet many USAC National guys would race too.
Couldn't this also work with the midgets. It's a long tow from Indiana for one night of racing. How about Midgets at Perris on Thanksgiving, and midget on either Friday or Saturday night at Victorville.
I would guess there might be some big issuies adding races this late, but didn't we just add Perris last week for Turkey night.
I see this as a win win for the racers, fans, and both promoters. Wouldn't Perris want to have more cars (ie back gate money) and more fans that come to town to watch more races. If you were going to Indiana to watch races, wouldn't you be more inclined to go if you could see 3 nights of action at two different tracks
What do you guys think? Any chance we could get the ball rolling
This could be the start of a CA fall sprint week, or a West Coast Fall Sprint week if you include AZ, just like Indiana Sprint week spread out thru two weekends.
Let's see if the promoters, tracks, racers and fans can make this happen. wouldn't this be a win win situation for everyone involved?

I'm also looking forward to a no holds barred open comp race... Switch? Oh that switch!! I only hit it when I need it, and never in the corners. Well almost never.
Half the lies they tell about me aren't true.

The idea of So Cal sprint week has come up many times. The problem is that no promoters are interested unless they can get the Saturday date. Our tracks are scattered all over the place. According to Google maps Perris is 229 miles from Santa Maria. By comparison, Kokomo, In. to Terre Haute, In. is about 130 miles and you don't have to drive through Los Angeles. Google says that you can drive from Santa Maria to Perris in 4 hours. It has taken me 4 hours to get to Perris from Thousand Oaks. Best chance is a three day weekend.

" The problem is that no promoters are interested unless they can get the Saturday date"
I think Victorville would be happy to take a Sunday night date after Oval Nationals.
After a Thursday Night Turkey Night, Victorville could have a race on Friday or Saturday night (I don't know the facility's date schedule, maybe something else is going on).
331 Looks and no interest, positive or negative.
Not sure what this means either concerning Victorville, "I'm also looking forward to a no holds barred open comp race... Switch? Oh that switch!! I only hit it when I need it, and never in the corners. Well almost never."

"Workin on it!!!!!!! Scotty "
BEST THING I HEARD ALL DAY
I wonder if there is anything the fans can do to help Scotty get some dates? (and add some extra butts and seats for the Ovals and Turkey Night too). If there is anything the fans can do (like send emails to USAC) let us know Scotty. I put something on IOW thread and see if there is any interest from fans back in Indiana.
Although not perfect, it seems CRA is back on track with better car

Honestly the ball is in my court....need to double fans or more and find some track sponsors....we have zero at this point and so far we have done this out of pocket. Family and friends have done all they can. Unfortunately, local sponsorship has been nill....many reasons may have led to that(skeletons from the past, economy, late in year, etc) we have been trying....but that doesn't matter ...gotta figure it out!!!!...local media has been just as unresponsive. So spreading the word and sponsor connections are our biggest obstacles....dates are available and I'm ready to book those dates....but only if the drivers/car owners can get paid!!!....Hopefully our upcoming shows(Sept.29th and Oct.13th) are well supported. Car count was awesome Aug19!....spectator was 607...looked better than that but we also had the people who were using the free stand passes with the race cars and we had to use the spectator stands for the guys in the pits too....not bad on Sunday but 1/3 of what was needed to support the 2 premier open wheel divisions. I was told not to run both big purse divisions but thought we needed something great for our opener and to draw on a Sunday. My mistake and I am paying for it! Ran her in deep , hooked the cushion and hung it on the fence!!! Basically threw a 20k party for my friends!...there you have it!!....so now we are moving forward...the opportunity is there just gotta make it happen!!! Thanks again for all the support and well wishes!!!(it's what is keeping me going right now)
