So whats up with gas prices? I filled up in Pa. for $3.45, on I-80 in Indiana it was $4.19! Thought they were ripping us off on the highway, drove into South Bend & paid $3.91...
My immediate thought was that some oil futures traders had inside info on a new Mideast war, then saw an article about pipeline problems in Great Lakes area... what about the rest of USA?

It went up about 40 cents overnite, according to locals... WTF??? I remember when the PRICE wasn't even 40 cents. From my childhood till 1973, it was from 18 to 31 cents. After 1st embargo when it hit 55, I recall people saying "If it ever reaches a dollar, I'll stop driving"
Joke's on us...

Thank You Mr. Obama
Keep up the good work, soon these people will not be able to afford to go across the street in autos, and we can get the mass transit like they have in Europe. No drilling, no pipeline and no refineries $7.00 a gallon, keep up the good work.

Seems to me, I paid about $3.75/gallon for regular unleaded earlier this week (I am in Northern CA). But, there was a refinery fire in the Bay Area last night, so it wouldn't be a shock for the prices to go up shortly.

Whether you like the president or not, he really has no tangible effect on gas prices. Global market conditions are much too complex to be affected by the actions of any U.S. president.

I don't know if you'll read the above article, but when economists are asked how the president affects gas prices, their reply, basically, is that he can't.

Just filled up for $4.07 up in Zion Illinois. On the news last week they said it would go up centered in the Wisconsin area due to a refinery issue and a pipeline issue. It was 3.69 a few days ago. What is it in Knoxville?

Part of that is what happens when you get fuel at a service plaza on a turnpike... you always get screwed because in a sense they have you capitve.

govt adds more per gallon in taxes than oil companies make in profit per gallon...call your congressman and ask for a discount in govt greed.

Wifes car - regular gas - $1.26.9/Litre
My car - Diesel - $1.12.9/Litre
Fun car - Premium - $1.43.5/Litre
It's up about 3cents a Litre vs. the same time a year ago and a Barrel of Oil is almost the same as well.
Prices are in London, Ontario half way between Toronto and Detroit...

How greedy can the oil companies get? I think that is what it all boils down to. They can charge us however much they want to because they can and there is really no alternative that we have but pay what they charge us. Only thing that we can do is buy cars that get more MPG but the dealerships charge us more for those because of how much we supposively save in gas. Oil companies continue to make record profits year after year while we continue to spend more of our money on the product and honestly I don't think there is anything any politican on either side can do about it. It just all comes down to Greed.

The hell he cant!!!! A artical from the Times is just a little bit liberal to back that up with. Maybe if you would ask T.Boone Pickens he could get you set stright!
