What has happened? I have seen too many bad tracks this year. It leads me to think if this is a dying art, or does somebody need to hold a traing class on the subject to teach new people how its done. The problem has been at Chico, (many times), Petaluma, Calistoga. I just think that the people who own cars have done enough to make a living and be able to afford cars to race, so they should not need to come up with answers. Fans have done there part by showing up, drinking and eating. The guys collecting the money, well that were it stops, it seems they may be letting us down.

Hard Work. The answer to track prep is the same as most all situations in life. Pay attention to what you are doing and give a 100%. The week before the Civil War in Quincy it was easily 50 hours on the blade and water truck. This was high because our surface is aged and in bad need of replacement.

That might be two of the most ridiculous things I've read on here.
Cheers!

Why don't all of you send your track guys down to the PAS early one week and watch that crew get the job done. They have patience and are very critical of everything they do . I sat there early a cpl Saturday's ago and was really impressed at how everything was step by step . And we have been lucky enough to have great racing all season no matter what the temp. Thank you PAS track crew. You guys need more props tytyty.
We need more sprint car racing at our home track.

Go to TULARE the best track on the west coast they manage to get it right damn near every time Even Alan gets placerville to be good most of the time but as for chico give me a break the place is hardly ever good. I will never say that I expect a good track 100% of the time because that will never happen but get it right a majority of the time. I dont agree with it being a lost art when chico has the same people doing that have been there for a long time. Calistoga is tough I understand the volunteer part of thing but from the racer side of things it isnt ok to go anywhere and have dust in mud ins and from a fans perspective I could go to a asphalt race and watch a follow the leader show. Bad track prep is very bad for an already sufering sport. Car counts and front gate tickets are down you cant expect people to return every time to watch a bad race on a bad track. Its bad when MRP has Higher car counts more people better track prep and better racing than most of the other tracks around. Please support your local tracks but if there is 2 close to you go to the one that supports its racers cause if we are going to continue to support these promotors we need them to support us in return.

It's amazing what Hawes has done with MRP and with that kind of effort I would hope they get rewarded with good car counts and good size crowds. If there wasn't so much going on in my life that is non-racing related I wouldn't hesitate to make the trip down there. Of course Cycleland is a shorter drive and for what it costs to get in and the quality of the racing I'd probably end up there on a Saturday night if the opportunity presented itself.
