Overall, a great field of cars, some good racing, but I missed the 410s being on the card. Brian Brown put on a great show though.

I also don't know why a race of the stature of the 360 Nationals is only 25 laps.

I think the track was fast, maybe too fast everyone just road around the top line, would have liked to see a yellow or something in the A to see if Kevin had anything for Shane. Brown put on a pretty good show if he starts mid pack in the A instead of having to come from mid back of the B he is the winner tonight. Personally I kind of liked no 410s there tonight it let the 360s finally be the main event of the night. And I'm really looking forward to tomorrows night show. I like all the classes of sprints, I don't need to see 410s to think I'm seeing good racing. Crowd seemed pretty good size tonight also. Can't wait for tomorrow night and to see who is coming.

First night was the best of the 3. i dont know why they just dont make it only 360's on Saturday like the 410's they have just as many if not more 360 races on the final night so let them have there own night and not put anybody else on the card. i was really disapointed in Allard,Pittman,McCarl,Haud,Larson, and Trey Starks.

this was the 1st year i've been to the 360 show since "06 it's amazing how much the crowd has grown!!! in probably 2-3 years they will have to open up the back stands

Other than the few nasty rides (prayed twice after the invocation) I thought it was an unbelievable night of racing. Meyers winning the C? from 3rd? On a green white checker as I was solely focused on the Covington, Jeff Swindell battle for the transfer after Covington came out of the previous race. Then the next race started the Brian Brown show..... If anyone complains there wasnt any passing surely missed out on a whale of a show. Shane was the class of the field bar none yes, but behind him everything was up for grabs. IF Silva has a 410 motor comparable to the one they used last year, I think the prerace odds HAVE to have them right up there with Sammy and Donny as the favorites to win. Glad Pittman and everyone involved in that front stretch accident walked away, as well as Gary Taylor. As well as RJ Johnson whos driveline broke I think they said. Great night of racing and everyone making it out unhurt was amazing to me Smile Cant wait for next week, didnt want to leave the Ville afterwards. My return will be Friday unless I can talk work into giving me a vacation day on short notice Thursday.

The track was good on night one and got progressively worse the next two nights based on the video I watched. I sure hope this is not any indication of things going forward. Dry slick last night with almost everyone on the top, when there is no bottom there is no racing. Brownie is just plain fast with lots of confidence and will slide you all night long, he drives with a real purpose these days and his imporovement has been fun to watch, keep it up Brian!

Got my fingers crossed some of that rain that hit around the area hit the track last night as I will watch tonite as well....

Didn't see any of Saturday night except results on the KVille website, looked like a lot of passing. Would you guys guess the front stretch stands as 3/4 full?

I watched Friday on TV and was amazed by the amount of empty seats??

Passing, huh? Top 7 in the A stayed there, then came Brownie. In the B, the top 3 stayed there then came Brownie. Myers won the C from 5th, the next three started in the top 4, it was the only 360 feature not won from the front row. In the D Main, the top 4 started in the top 5 and in the E the top 3 started in the top 3. It was mostly a one groove night as the bottom was not in play and at Knoxville you have to have that 2nd groove or the up front cars will stay there.....

Yes...I have seen better A-mains, but watching Shane carving though traffic was worth the money.

Brown was impressive, but when the race ended Brian was not much more that a straight away from being lapped.

Nowhere near 3/4 full, I'd put it at about 1/2 or less. Still a decent crowd although I think last year's was better.

Racing was good, not great as the field got stretched out, Brown was the show.

It was pretty good. There was just no bottom groove in 1&2. Passing there required a slider that was a momentum killer going down the backstretch. Lasoski tried the bottom on the first couple laps. When he moved to the cushion I knew it was over. Swindell was fast and I thought Stewart had set such a quick pace that given a caution he may have had a shot. Stewarts left rear was taking a beating and a restart would have been interesting. That being said the fastest car won. I hope Gary Taylor was ok. That was a rough ride and so was daryn's. He got out with a limp. Overall it was a fun night.
More weight, more regulation, more similarity in the
cars.... that will ensure plenty of thrills for years
to come. Only the most average talent behind the
wheel will be needed with such awesome equipment on
the track!

I saw lots of passing. Some times a guy moves up several spots then loses some. That is not reflected in the results. JJ . came from 20 to 11 and was higher than that at one point. Don't know how you can be an expert on a race you watched on video. I know when I watch the video of a race I was at I don't see 1/10th of the show I saw in person.

The stats back up what I saw and your choice of a single driver of the almost 100 that raced is weak at best, Jason is among the top 2 360 drivers in the country and the other guy won.

If you were there watching leave the dog and white cane home next time, some times a car does move up and back but last night it didn't happen, sorry....

My point is about the track's condition and the fact it appeared to be bone dry and that there was not a bottom groove, you wanna argue that point also? If so, ask somebody that was there and actually watched the race, thanks....

I only got to watch it on video, but what I saw was this:

At one point the camera was on the 57 car and it was passing lapped cars like they were standing still. It was actually jaw dropping to see the differential in speed between them. When he passed Tim Shaeffer in the same mode, I knew it was over for everyone else.

The other two on the podium can boast of how fast they were and Shane was going to be tough to beat off the front row, but they both started merely a bumper width behind Stewart, and neither of them were EVER close enough to challenge. In fact, at the end of the race, Shane stretched his lead out over Swindell by more than 4 seconds in just about 5 laps. 4 seconds at Knoxville? Whats that? 1/4 of a lap? In just 5 laps.

At one point the camera was on Brown because he was on the move. But it looked like he stalled out around 7th or 8th place. He and W.Johnson dueled for a few laps. He put on a show from the back. But he never challenged and I don't care what he states with his thumbs, the only way he moves up any further was to run someone else out of real estate. As the camera panned for the 57 in the final laps, the car on the move was closing in on putting the woulda coulda shoulda car a lap down. Brown was fast Saturday. Nowhere close to the 57 however. yellows or not.

Which brings up the point that the camera was on Brownie as he slid (kind of) Kyle Larson. That was a hold your breath moment. Which brings up another point. Kyle Larson gets two hot lap sessions on the track Saturday and was still basically a non-factor. That surprised me.

The track may have been a one fast lane. But there was a lot of excitement in the race. Maybe it was just because my favorite guys won. Again. The duo of the 57 car proved once again that they are a serious threat. As Shane stated in victory lane; that was their first time there this season. Smile

Once again you can count on three things being accurate. If it's Knoxville, if it's August then Shane Stewart will be heading to the front. Probably not a nicer guy out there to deserve such success and with the new sponsor that result is a nice bonus.....

Its interesting how strong he is now. If I remember correctly, he was mid pack with what looked like top shelf stuff 6 or 8 years ago as a full time WoO guy for Rudeen etc.

Luna's Ford engine style that won 2 WoO titles and 3
Kings Royals before a weight rule against the best EVER
in their prime and now DOMINATES super dirt late model
racing is no longer allowed/wanted in a WoO sprint
car.... Was Luna a miracle worker?
