....and if the nose wing wouldn't have come apart he had a top 5 or maybe even podium in the A. 21st to 4th before that happened. Definitely a good run for the kid!

Then charged from 21st to 4th or 3rd before having to pull off due to a collapsed front wing. Also, he "qualified" for the A out of his heat (finished 2nd I believe) but was DQ'd for a tire change. Don't know the whole story behind that, so take it for what it's worth. And as they say, "That's the rest of the story".

Wonder if they knew the rules or if they had a flat or cut after qualifying. 410's only took one lap so at most he had 2 laps at speed on the tire so changing to a new one would have been no real benefit. I'm sure if it was a flat or something all they would have had to do was start at the back of their heat as penalty for changing tire. There's a chance he may still have transferred. Real headscratcher.

Why did he get to start on the front of the B when he was DQ'ed from the heat?

The B is lined up by time trials. Being DQ'ed was like being last in the heat. It didn't effect any races for the rest of the night.

When will they run a 30 lap feature like everywhere else?

As soon as you get all those gray hairs out of positions that make the decisions...they are too set in their ways and only make decisions based on how much money is thrown at them...

I thought a few years back when they were going to the 40 and eventually 50 lap A for the Nats with a scheduled fuel stop that we were told that a healthy 410 could barely make 30 laps under green at Knoxville without needing fuel.
Could have a little to do with it, could also be an effort to save laps on the locals motors.
More laps = more rebuilds over the course of the season.
