WoO can.
Not sure how many will, but anyone wanting to shake down a car, or do some testing, probably will run.

Is huset's running that night?
More weight, more regulation, more similarity in the
cars.... that will ensure plenty of thrills for years
to come. Only the most average talent behind the
wheel will be needed with such awesome equipment on
the track!

I still say in 2013 Knoxville should make the Capitani Classic a 2 night show, Saturday and Sunday. Lock top 5 from full show Saturday into Dash for Sunday. Run full show Sunday (with 305's) and put top 5 qualifiers into Dash. Run 10 lap dash to set the first 5 rows for feature.
Make it $15,000 to win.
Saturday night 360 Nationals will suffer if they don't bring back 410's with them.

I was hoping the Cappy Classic would have a special format of some sort (maybe the reverse/revenge draw from the Race of Champions last year) or something to set it apart from just a normal race. Not that I am complaining mind you because I know I will get my money's worth when going to the race, but I just feel that something that is designated as a "special event" should have a unique aspect to it.
It should be interesting to see how the race shakes up the Knoxville Championship Cup Series points for the 410's because the extra drivers in there could cause certain drivers to finish below or higher than what may normally occur with out the extra cars. Unless they run it like the Outlaw shows and everyone who makes the show gets 100 points automatically (which I doubt they do since they have labelled it as a Knoxville points race). Anyways, I'm looking forward to the Sunday night action and a race where anyone can win!

I think they should leave it alone as a 410 only show on Sunday and leave the 360 Nationals as a "stand alone" event.
If the 360's are not to the point (22 years) where they can carry a show on thier own as the headliner, then they shouldn't have the event IMO.
I think overall, this is good for BOTH events, and good for the IRONMAN 55 for the Outlaws. They are no longer competing for cars with Knoxville on that Saturday night so their car count could be better as well.
As far as a special format goes, I think exactly the opposite, just make it a $$ race ($5000 to win is $2000 more than normal) and run the regular format (that's what PA does for their big races like the Mitch Smith Memorial if I remember correctly, it's about the $$, not the format).
IF they get a big crowd for this race, I could see the purse increasing, but I doubt it will as the fans will already be here, this might be one of the few $$$ making nights of the year for the track (they had to get their head handed to them on BOTH Outlaw shows this year, the weekly races have had bigger crowds).

I'm expecting 60 cars maybe more for this one night 410 only show. I think it's fine to leave the format as a typical weekly race. It's basically a built in tune-up for the Nationals and the Nationals is format is hard as it is. I'm just thankful we have a "open" race with a lot of good cars and drivers there for only a $20 ticket. Still wish we could have had USAC again at Knoxville, but glad they added USAC to both nights at Osky.

I'd say they had 4000 at most for that show, last Saturday was probably the biggest crowd of the year (3M Night).
I don't think it's necesarrily that people don't want to attend, but there are a lot of things going on until late July for most people anymore (and some still have kids baseball and softball going on). I know people that have had youth baseball or saftball tournaments every Saturday all summer, so they haven't attended 1 race yet (but used to go every weekend).
I think this Saturday will have a big crowd and anticipate that the 360 and 410 Nationals may be the biggest crowds in years, but won't know for sure until they get here.
My biggest concern is the car count, a lot less cars pre-entered this year and we lost a competitor just last night (Robby Wolfgang to early retirement) that was pre-entered. I personally don't need over 100 cars to think the Nationals are awesome, but there are "fans" that do.

I would guess more than 4,000 saw the rubber down debacle in June... closer to 6k or 8k.
I also don't think we have a LOT less pre-entered this year... maybe a few, but not a lot. I've got 94 by my count now... with TK, Tatnell, Zemken, Kubli, Greg Wilson, and a few others MIA... including all of the MOWA cars. I'm not expecting all of them to run, but maybe one or two. By the time the 11th rolls around, we should have close to 100... which is right where we've been the past few years. The 360 Nationals are in similar shape..

I think the 360s were up to 99 last time I checked, with the 410s in the low 90s with a few definites not on the list. I'm actually pretty optimistic in terms of car counts for this year.
The 100 number is a symbolic thing, important, but not vital. Last year's Wed show had only 45, but it was an incredible night of racing.

There weren't any more than 4000 on the June WoO night. Probably less and that includes the suites.
The crowds won't be big until Wednesday of the 410 nationals. I think the overall crowd for the nationals will be down at least 10% from last year.

Let me guess... you stubbed your toe getting out of bed this morning... didn't have any hot water in the shower... wife's a bitch... kids are annoying... job is boring... hate your boss... the economy sucks... guess what - nobody cares!! If you don't have anything positive to say, keep it to yourself... that should keep you away from here for as long as... forever

So chilly,
Instead of having an honest conversation, you decide it's better to get mad and slam someone. How many people where at the June Woo show???
Take the blinders off and quit drinking the knoxville juicy-juice.

I would rather see the wingless guys on Sunday. Last year the crowd was pretty good and the racing was good. I will be there Sunday night because I a 800 miles from home to watch any kind of racing.

wow throwin around percentages. looks like we have a math major on this board. I
don't have exact numbers but I thought both outlaw shows drew great crowds. I've heard ticket
sales for 410 nats are up this year. Real excited for tomorrow's final weekly show heading into
Nationals. Tons of great drivers expected to be here and the Race for the Cure will draw a huge
crowd.
