It looks like a good field for the Allstars up in Hibbing, MN tonight. Knoxville regulars, the McCarls,Dobmeier, Heskin & Austin Johnson are showing up for sure. I'm sure there will be some IRA guys there too.

Experimental car for Schatz? I would think so or he would be violating WOO rules?

Don't look for any IRA guys. Imagine they will end up with about 18-20 cars. I know at Wilmot the All Stars opened up that you could run any brand of fronts and you only had to qualify and feature on the same tire due to the tire shortages.

I wonder if Dollansky would ever make his way up there, not a terrible distance for him.

Here is what Schatz was driving. We dont get Sprints up North here too often so always sweet when we get them, especially the 410's!

Where are the TSR stickers, sign of the times? A Petro sticker,no blue beacon truck wash stickers,oh I get it now, they just built this to practice what they'll do in the work area at the Nationals, I like the looks of it though, brings back memories,no Shaver stickers either, but Schatz truck stop or store on the front sidepanel. Is that a Toyota motor? You must be kidding? Or is this a freelancer car for the 360 Nat's at K'Ville.Nothing like getting ready for next year, wonder where the big ole yaller truck is parked,?in some truckstop in Mississippi full of wartermelons.Yahoo! Donnie is Back.

This appears to be the Schatz Family car with the Chevy LS 7 (410 alternative engine) under the hood. The Schatz family has been working on this alternative power plant for a couple years and showing up at races like this one to do testing of this power plant. This is why the TSR graphics are missing from the car.

That's Donny's Dad's car/motor. They run it up here in Donny's off time with some crate motor (his Dad builds?) for test n tune and to show that it can run with the 410's. According to his interview last year at Husets when he showed up on a random Sunday.

Its a Shaver built engine, according to Danny Schatz.

I'd really like to see that deal get some traction, esp at a place like Huset's that struggles with car counts every year.

He has 2 cars like this, the other one has a Big Game Tree Stands sticker on the wing. This one has the experimental motor in it and I believe the other one just has a regular 410 in it. From what I've understood Donny himself owns this stuff. I think he buys a quite a bit of used stuff from Tony at the end of the year and they probably had stuff leftover from when they owned the team. He races at local tracks with it whenever he can it seems like, I think he's trying to see how many laps he can put on that motor before it starts to get weak.

Heres the link to the info about the motor.

The spec 410 works ok after you take the rev limiter chip out. if not, the motor cuts out halfway down the strait. It can keep up on a dry slick track, but gets blown away on heavyer hooked up, horse power tracks.

They still have heavy tracks??? I thought everything these days was dry slick except the little bullrings (that are pretty much all corner anyway).
