with all these rules ,i guess not many sprintcars are going to be there, a guy can save his gas money and go to burlington on saturday night,305 racing is a budget deal ,when are the so called rule makers going to get that.

sprintfn1: You have rules in any series you are running with so not sure why the negativity. What do you have against anyone making a post on a forum to let teams know where they can compete at or for that matter, let fans know about something they might be able to take advantage of?

Yes, the 305 deal is a budget thing but it also evens out the playing field. There is no one that is going to come in and cherry pick a race. As long as the rules are followed consistantly and across the board, there is every probability that the racing is just as competative as anything else. I actually was at a 305 race this past weekend and the lap times were a full 1.5 to 2 seconds faster than the unlimited late models that they were boasting about at the track. It changed a lot of people's perspective.

A racing fan is about the sport, not about bashing particular groups.

DirtnWings - We have had drivers swoop in and cherry pick our races at Burlington. Hell, an Outlaw caliber driver came in and took the highest payout that the 305's had there. That kind of stuff may not happen at some of the tracks out there, but it does happen here occasionally! Now that having been said, it is fine with me. The faster your competition is the faster you learn how to race. So BRING 'EM ON!!!! It is the only way that we are going to get any faster. I would rather get our a#$ kicked daily by guys that we are going to benefit from racing against, then to have a mediocre field that is easier to learn how to race with. Of course, we have become really good at getting our collective a%$ kicked. Smile

just fyi the intention of the tire rule change was to make it so people did NOT have to go out and spend more money to buy a spec tire to compete.... they could use the tires they had provide they are not softer than the Knoxville tires.....and frankly to get more cars because the deal just will not work if I don't get more support for the race..... this is a Thursday night fair race with only two other classes of cars on the schedule.....I need some cars to put on a show.....no intentions to put the Knoxville group at a disadvantage and I talked to several of them before the decision was made..... We absolutely need more than 7 and 9 cars to show up. Thanks to all that have come to the first two races and all that have expressed interest in coming to support this class before and after this small change.

Hey Circletrack, it's all good. The class needs people to look out for them when it comes to $$$$ and Cents. And your harder tire rule will only help, not hurt. Good luck with your program. Had I not scavenged our 305 this year we would be trying to make your race.

Hopefully there is a good turn out to show support for the track. That way maybe we can build on a program for next year.

Great show. First time to the track and was very impressed with the racing. I wish I had my engine so I could of joined the fun! Only complaint is the amount of cation laps (getting cars ready to push back off or getting cars off track), but for a track that doesn't have to normally deal with sprints, I will let it slide. Overall, it was a great experience and would strongly recommend going!
