The "Man from Mifflintown" just proved tonite that he can still win races and a PA Speedweek race at that. Congrats to Keith Kauffman on winning tonite's race ... one month after turning 62 years old!!!

LOL The last 3 nights have been an embarassment to PA speedweek. They need to seriously look into bringing in some prep guys from sprint car tracks to the modified/LM tracks on the speedweek schedule. 19 second fast time tonight, Wow. Oh well, I see better things ahead for the rest of speedweek and I now know to skip BD, GV and Hagerstrain.

That was why I was so shocked to read how awesome the track at Hagerstown was for the Outlaw race earlier this year. The last 6-7 times I had been to Hagerstown, the track was a pitiful shell of what it used to be 15-20 years years ago.

Look back at the pics of Hagerstown before the evening started,it looks like they did not dig it up and soak it ,it appears they just put water on top and drove the packers over it,and the top came off in warm ups,due to the weather and just like previous times here,Lincoln, and elsewhere,it is a poor excuse for track prep, anywhere. I guess it just costs too much to prepare a track correctly but you must admit its 90% due to the weather. Remember, they get you thru the gate they got your $$$$ what do they care in weather like this, just get it done so we can take this haul to the bank tomorrow. You stop and think about it,thats what it amounts too,it really does, you don't like it tough. Williams Grove starts a double header tonight, your guess is as good as anyones what you'll get there, them claiming to be a professional operation ,being head and shoulders above any Eastern track, well brother I got news for you ,most of the time the head is somewhere else but it is up to the shoulders. You can guess I'm sure, lets see what Justin Loh can pull out of his magicians hat the next two nights to prove it all wrong.Really doubtful, unless they divert the creek across the road. The Outlaws big meeting before the Kings Royal race may bring some big changes for next year, maybe even open tires rule.Hold your breath.

Williams Grove has struggled all season with track conditions. I've been headed to Lincoln every week over the Clip. They get 2 chances to impress me this week.

The only negative thing I will say is, Frank needs to go on vacation when the farm tractors invade The Capital and let the crew do what they are capable of doing, which is, prepare an amazing surface for whatever comes through town...;(

On a more positive note...(in my book)...

Nonstop feature=A

No blown motors or torn up tractors=A

No blown tires=A

Going into the pits and introducing myself to Joe Darrah=A

Sitting with the commisioner and first lady of the Beerhill Gang=A

Witnessing KK going to victory lane=A++++++++++++++

Plus, not having to smell SLINK51 on a hot night in Higgerstown because he is, by far, the smartest moron on the internet for not attending the show... wink
