Was Sammy's race until caution then he restarted too early and the officials made the call and dropped him back 2 spots. From then on was the Madsen show

Isn't the leader suppose to start the pace? Aren't the others suppose to be on the gas with him when he does....I understand on a race start but not sure about why after a yellow....Takes away all the leader worked for. One would thiind he should get some advantage for leading...Just by chance how many times did he jump the start?

i didn't see or hear the race so i can't comment specifically on sammy's incident, but the woo have a take off zone in which you as the leader are allowed to take off. you are allowed to take off anywhere in that zone, but you can't take off before it.
as far as how many times was the start jumped, as far as i know you only get one shot. i don't believe they don't give you multiple times to screw up before they penalize you.
to indy and beyond!!

On double file restarts with WoO, the leader is allowed to start first, and may fire any time once he gets to the orange cone between turns 3 & 4. The leader is not allowed to fire BEFORE the cone.

I couldn't see the cone on the video, and it's kinda hard to tell where 3 ends and 4 begins.

Johnny is very correct...
FYI,
> look at the first restart @ time slot 20:19
- notice a group of 4 guys and 2 guys beside them and a # 63 wing car in the infield area.
> look at the second restart @ time slot 22:09
- same spot and note the same guys and car #63
thats racin' tonight could have another spin of events

During Sammy's Lakeside victory lane interview he said that the officials told him tonight that they made a mistake last night and that he did not jump the start.

I was in turn 1, but a friend standing in 4 said he started well before the cone...twice. He was warned the first time & put back a row the 2nd time.
