The All Star race had a lot of teams with blown tires by the end of the night. From what it sounds like, it was due to track preparation and the racing surface. I think tracks need to do better to prepare the track for competitors, crews, and fans. There is really no excuse as to why the racing surface for the feature can't be decent. Knoxville consistently has a great racing surface almost every time the sprinters hit the track. I am just tired of drivers and teams complaining about dry conditions for the features. They should realize that that is part of sprint car racing. You won't have tacky and fast conditions every night. It's part of our sport so I don't understand why they use it as an excuse to why they didn't perform well. If the tires are popping, back off the throttle a little bit and save tires. Sometimes the you got to slow down to be fast.

The track conditions at Sharon were atrocious. If the teams and fans don't bitch, people will think that it was okay and we will see more of it! The teams were asked if they wanted to lift the tire rule for the All Stars, and for the most part, your passenger car tire would have been eaten off in 30 laps. When all but two tires blows in the feature...you have a problem, and it's not a question of being on the gas. Only shining moment was a "new" all star feature winner, so good for him!

I dont get it. You complain about track conditions, then complain about drivers complaining. I'd like to file a complaint about this!

No track prep before the races, no excuse.
Some tracks don't work the surface during the races because lately people worry more about getting out of the track by 9pm then sitting through 30-45 minutes of track work a couple times a night.
And on a lighter note, Tony Stewart lost a race because of poor track conditions..... IRONY!!!!

oh, don't get me wrong, I'm very happy for Brandon Matus who absolutely WON the race and it's a great accomplishment... if you don't understand the irony I was getting at then I'm sorry.

The people in the stands have the right to grip also. They spent there hard earned money to go watch a very bad race.

back 50 years ago IMCA ran late model stockcars during the day. The races were 200 laps on a dirt track. Talk about dust, it was terrible. At times you could not see the cars. I went to several of these over a few years. I always said I would not go again, but come race day I was there. and grandstands were packed every race.
