Mother nature could not stop the ASCS Midwest Warrior Region sprints from putting on their show at US 36 raceway Friday night. Of coarse the work of Mike Franks and his crew played a big part in getting the track ready for competition.

Rain moved into the area around 5:00 with several brief showers, with the water already on the track it became a real quagmire and the work equipment trouble just getting around at first. Most people figured the deal was done and were ready to pack it in, but Mike Franks had other idea's, we raced. Thanks Mike.

The heat races were pretty much a locked down track with the three heat race winners taking home an extra $500 for their wins.

Come A-Main time you had to have the yellow and black 53 of Jack Dover on your mind as he has won this Bud Shootout a couple of times already. He would start inside second row. I could tell you the results but that is why we make these video's so you will watch and hopefully not know who won before you sit down and watch the event unfold. Enjoy.

Just curious, Who is the gentleman doing the interviewing? Is he local Missouri folk? I have seen these video's before and always enjoy his interviews. I personally think the ASCS ought to hire him for interviews during & before races. He has a natural ease about his interviews that kinda reminds me of Andy Griffith and makes for a more intresting listen. Just my opinion!

Just curious - I've been to a half dozen races at US 36, and until last night, every sprint race I've seen, heats and mains, as won by the first driver out of turn two at the start of the race. The cars seem to fly around the track, there just doesn't seem to be much passing up front, regardless of the number of yellow or red flags.
