How many cars usually show up at the USAC Sprint events? They will be running Wilmot in a week from Saturday and then Sun Prairie on Sunday. I am just curious how much they rely on local support. Thanks...

Looking at the point standings for USAC it looks loke about 14 are on the tour out of 27 total drivers whom have raced in point events. I know a few Wilmot guys plan to take off the wing and see what happens.
I tell it like I see it.

USAC just got back from their Eastern Storm tour out in PA and on that trip USAC brought 16 cars and all of those are top quality cars. With WI being quite a bit closer and a two race weekend I would look for there to be 18-23 nonwinged regulars. With the IRA off and no other winged action going on in WI (other than the MSA 360 shows) for those dates not sure how many locals will take off the wings and run. Could pick up a few IL guys who will take the wing off and I am sure a few of the midget guys (M. Hess) who have sprint cars will be there. My estimate is the car count will be close to 30 each night. Wilmot should produce some great racing but still not sold that Sun Prairie is wide enough for the sprinters.

I was hoping for at least 30 cars. That would make for a pretty good show. Thanks for the info.....
