I don't know that I'd say falling like a stone. He's not winning every night but I can't imagine that would be reasonable to expect. Its only been a month since he won his last race. I don't think he's used all his provisionals or any for that matter. They just haven't hit the setup perfect I would say. I would hold that thought and see what happens on Sat. night. at Knoxville, he usually gets it pretty spot on there.

I think he is just going through a rough time and i know that sometimes people go through these times, i am sure a lot of drivers do, maybe he is getting a bit tired, maybe he need to have a break for a while it wont hurt to lose a little, its part of the game and it makes them appreciate winning more

Maybe the dry tracks are getting the best of him, Or those crappy tires everyone hates so bad. I bet you if they opened the tire rule up one race not one car would run whats mandated.

Sammy set a new track record at Kokomo last night and had 2/10s on the 2nd quickest car. Started 6th (inverted 6) and rolled over in the feature.
Sammy is still fast.
Kraig Kinser started 2nd and lead all 40 laps.

The times have changed. While I'm thrilled to see Steve and Sammy still competitive in their fifties, it ain't like it used to be. In the old days they were the dominant ones. They are still a threat to win, but it's no longer a lock that one of them will. There are several other teams and drivers that can win on a given night. I do think Sammy is doing more with less right now. I just don't think his team quite has the funding to do things the way some of the other teams are doing it. I think he's doing quite good myself.

You're kidding about Sammy's funding, right?? Do you honestly think Sammy would be out on the road if he didn't have the best of everything?? You apparently don't know much about how Todd at Big Game does business. That's cool...

More with less?? You think Sammy is lacking in the equipment category. Sammy has the most quick times. He and teammate Dollansky are tied for the most wins. I don't think you do that on the WoO tour with inferior equipment. There's only so much you can spend that makes a difference. Sammy has said his car owner gives him everything he needs and allows him to do it his way. There's no excuses. The two tree stand cars are faster than most nearly every night. They're just getting out pointed by a couple of guys who are being more consistent right now. It's only June. A lot can and will change between now and November. I just wonder how long Sammy will stay on tour now that he's fallen all the way to 4th. It's about time for him to take his ball and go home for a while. Steve has been at this long enough to know he isn't going to win them all anymore. But he would love to have 1 more championship. That's where his eye is. If he can pull it off I wouldn't be surprised to see him semi-retire. Nothing better than going out on top.

Im not a huge fan but i do enjoy seeing Sammy race and be in the points. I just hope he stays on the road. the more he loses and slips in points the more i worry he might go home for a while. We will see i guess. GO #7!!!!!
P.S. He can take a break and they can fly in Solwold to keep the car up in points lol. Just dreaming.

I think he is just going through a dry spell right now. All drivers will go through one with the season as long as it is. Look at Meyers and Schatz last year. Both of them got off to slow starts but were able to get on a hot streak in the middle of the year and they finished 1st and 2nd. I'm sure we will see everyone else deal with the same issues, its just a matter of who will recover better.

Lack of funding? You do realize Big Game has 2 cars on the full time WoO tour and they are 3rd and 4th in points currently. It's a 70 race season, and its a competitive field, no one will dominate which is evident by how close the top 5 or 6 cars are in points. And odds are Sammy will win on Saturday at Knoxville.

Or, then again, he might not even make the main without using a provisional.
My wife told me if I went to one more Sprint Car race
she would leave me.................I'm sure gonna miss
that ol' gal.

I don't think Sammy has used a provisional yet... which isn't the case with Steve & Donny. They're both all out until July. If they want to allow provisionals (which they shouldn't), they should give them full $$$ and only half points. If you make the show fair & square, you should get rewarded. Provisionals are a joke. Sammy struggled in qualifying at the April show... guessing they'll get that fixed this weekend.

I think he had an advantage with his shocks at the beginning of the year and everyone else caught up.

I never said he didn't have good equipment. He directly told my brother that they weren't as well funded as the Kasey Kahne and TSR teams. I don't know Sammy myself, but my brother knows him well and talks to him regularly.

Big Game cars are 1-2 in money won this year on the WoO tour, they've been doing something right.
