I like Doty, but he is wrong. I appreciate that he comes on and replies, but the accident with Darrah was 100% Sammy's fault. Let's quit with the rut excuse already. I saw all the replays this rut thing is BS. Sammy jumped the start and pulled up beside Lynch because he knew he needed to get high. He drove straight up between Lynch and Darrah to forcefully take Darrah's line, and he drove straight over the front of Darrah's car in the process.
This isn't about bashing Brad. It's about Sammy. No one needs to be making up bs to defend Sammy's racing in that heat. Brad Doty included. Both moves were intentional. Both moves were dirty. And his interview afterward proved both.
Sammy said nothing about hitting a rut. His comment was basically that Cody should have hit the brakes and given Sammy his line on the track and settle for 3rd. That's all the confirmation I need that Sammy drove up on purpose.

Wow Jamie, you have ALL this racing figured out, even who is or is not qualified to be an announcer. I'll check again, but I don't recall seeing your name listed as the big winner or championship winner. As far as Brad Doty, I think he is great for our sport, and if he tries to not take sides in these situations, that is just class. I like Brad Doty, always have and always will.

if you watched and listened to sammy's interview there is nothing to figure out.
he flat said both cody and paul should have given way to him.
he said paul should have lifted when he saw sammy coming. which is kind of impossible when sammy never made it past pauls left rear.
sammy said cody should have backed off because he should have known sammy was trying to make the dash. well even though cody was in the dash on time, that doesn't have to stop him from racing.
sammy is one of the best that ever sat behind the wheel. he has great car control. he doasn't need anyone making excuses for his actions.
with sammy, what you see is what you get. we all saw what happened.
and sammy made no flimsy excuses, he basically said they were in his way.

Watch the replay of the Darrah incident, you see Sammy actually turn to the LEFT after hitting the rut. Unfortunately after gaining some momentum, even turning left is not gonna keep you from drifting up after getting straightened out by a rut, cushion, or whatever he hit.

I think Cody needs to bring up the youtube video of Sammy showing steinhouse his chilli bowl rings up and close before he starts sayin he wants start beef with Sammy. Sammy will be as Sammy has always been and hence why I will still keep cheering for him. Go Sammy.
I don't aim to please.
I aim to hit the target.

Or you can watch it and judge for yourself. Not that it will make anyone bitch and moan any less. Great coverage by speed BTW and congrats to Joey on the win on a very tuff race track!

regardless of who's at fault; the attitude or remarks that you do what ever for the position to get in dash will definitely come to haunt him, you start getting a couple guys aiming for you and it's gonna cost you

thanks for the video. wheels were cranked left and he fought it before he got into Cody. racing deal in my worthless opinion. Cody was in the dash. I would have saved my car and not forced the issue but what do i know. and it's very clear to see Sammy damn near destoyed his car when it happened. I doubt he would risk his own car just to run over someone.

First, it's comical how the general opinion shifts after he replies here. Kiss ass elsewhere.
Second, if you *really* think that this was ANYTHING other than Swindell being a dirty driver like he always has been, you need to get a clue. Doty's analysis of almost everything Swindell did would be best described as "wrong" and generously described as "inaccurate". It was a sub-par job of commentating at the absolute best.

People like you are a big reason I think message boards suck.
Like I said before, some people would throw their mothers to the wolves. You are one of those people.
In the future I'll consider any post you make on here to be what it's worth - absolutely NOTHING. Take your foul mouth and attitude and stick it where the sun don't shine.

it looks like the reason sammy turned left was because he got himself hooked when he was just getting into cody's left front.
even if the initial contact was incidental, as it might have been, sammy never checked up or tried to get off of cody even after it was clear he was into someone. he just kept his foot in it and drove over cody, and then stayed in the gas and almost took out kemenah too.

Please tell me what I am wrong about. Doty was dead wrong on just about everything he said abut Swindell. But yea, because I pointed that out. Good reasoning.
Aren't you the same one who supports the drug addict Tyler Walker? Right.

Well you're wrong in the statement you just made for starters.
Why I'll never do more than take pictures? I've been the editor at a daily newspaper for 15 years.
Just more from a mouth that doesn't know what he's talking about.
I've often thought it would be cool to write a book about auto racing message boards so that 20 years from now we could look back and see what an idiot some people are. Some of your posts would be sure to make the book.
If anyone should be thrown to the wolves it's you.

Dadgum, I'm glad I was at a local venue last night & watching the Hannagan show. I said years ago when Sammy had Channel Lock for a sponsor it couldn't have better for him. "Get A Grip"

maybe you love a guy with an attitude that everyone just needs to get out of his way and if they don't, whatever happens is their fault.
but that don't mean i gotta.

WHAT in the hell is wrong about my statement. Your incompetence is illustrated by the fact that you say "you're wrong" but don't give any reason why. Of course, I am not wrong, so any reason you give will be invalid. What, you met Doty once so now you think you need to defend him?
I truly believe you think writing that book is a good idea, which is another illustration of how much credence anything you say should be given.
Ohhh, the editor at a daily newspaper. Come on.

I agree 100%, just Slammy being Slammy. I also like Doty. I think he's just being professional and politically correct the way he called it, which is his job. It's not an announcers job to judge and call a driver dirty even if it's obvious to everyone watching, which it was in this case. Even Joey made mention of it in VL.
