I was surfing for sports shows and came across the indy parctice that is on now. With the new spoilers they really do look like what the have always been. Huge go carts that the driver only needs to stear. They are a computer on wheels. Glad I will be at a dirt track on Saturday and Sunday and dont have to watch Napcar or Indy.

do you not think these are real racers or real race cars? I'd be willing to bet you've never turned a lap in a race car, if you had you would know that there is alot to it and that your comments about just needing a driver to steer are idiotic. Have fun WATCHING the races this weekend Jack

This log in is my alter ego. I am 62 years old. I have raced 410's and 360's both with wings and topless. I raced carts as a kid along with Badger midgets. I call it like I see it. See you in the pits!

Overall NASCAR is way more exciting than IndyCar. However, anyone catch today's Freedom

100 for the Indy Lights? That racing was incredible. Sure, the speeds are 30 mph slower than Indy

Car but its much safer and includes a ton of side by side racing. Even better, the Indy Lights are

using the old style of cars. Can't imagine how much better the racing could be if you had the same

talent of the Indy Car series behind the wheel of those lights cars.

So, since I watch from the stands and have for 45 years, been to tracks in 13 states, and god willing will make my 44th straight Knoxville Nationals this August, but don't drive, wrench, or own a race car makes me a lower life form, and shouldn't be allowed to speak my opinion? I think you're sadly mistaken. Actually, I think I, and every other PAYING fan, have the the right, if not more of a right since we PAY our hard earned dollars to support racing, to express our opinions! If we weren't willing to pay to watch, there would be no racing!!! I'm glad you're the exception and not the norm when it comes to drivers, owners, and crew when it comes to their appreciation of the fans. I would have loved to have had the opportunity to have attempted driving a sprint car, but never had the luxury of a job that allowed enough time to pursue it. My father quit wrenching to dedicate his time to the family business, which meant you couldn't take off weekends to go racing. His values became my values: You take care of the business to provide for your family first. With our business there wasn't time to pursue a racing career. Thus my role on the racing world has been a dedicated fan for 45 years.

I've never understood this idea of having to hate one form of motorsport because you love another one. I can enjoy almost any form of motorsport whether it is Sprints, Indy, Formula One, NASCAR, Le Mans, etc. I don't really care for drag racing or modifieds, so I don't watch those types of racing, but that doesn't mean I have to come on a message board saying "Well these aren't sprint cars so they aren't worth a damn."

It is just ridiculous. If you don't enjoy seeing an IndyCar or a NASCAR car etc. then don't watch and don't patronize someone that does. It's not that hard. When you put down a type of racing you are hurting all of motorsports. Just enjoy the race for what it is, men in a machine with a steering wheel, engine and some wheels trying to go fast.

Hey tool, You have taken this thread so off subject for your personal whining it is silly. You sound like a very frustrated individual. Without fans there would be no purse for you if you infact race. If you do race like I did you should know all about how important the fans are. I always signed flags for the kids and boobs for the ladies. It keeps them coming back to the track. So how about you shut up and drive. I have purchased more shocks, right rear's, oil, bars, rims, rear ends, spacers, fuel cells, bladders, front bumpers (chrome horns), food, fuel, and hotel rooms than you ever will.

"Yes. Unless you've paid a tire bill or engine freshen bill in this century, or raced with over 400 hp, you have little to no understanding of the sport."

Wow. Is that just for motorsports or life in general?

I've never been in politics; in your mind i have no right to a political opinion?

I've been a dancer or choreographer, so I shouldn’t vote on Dancing with the Stars?

I've never been a cook or owned a restaurant, so I shouldn’t give my review?

I've never sang or written a song, I shouldn’t be capable of making a decision on if I like a song or not?

Also, unless your a professional writer, what business do you have putting thoughts on paper? You have no understanding of words, correct?

Still a lot of tickets for sale. The only reason I will watch it is because of B. Clauson. Wishing him the best. Other than that...if he falls out... I will fall out with him.

Man, are you a wonder, or what? The reality is that anyone who compare's a micro anything no matter how fast to a 70's sprinter is not only out of touch, but lacking in common sense.

Don't know what you know or care, but it's all there to see and know that you are a one big SOB, and no doubt about it.

So what?..Kids drive 600's, and if you would have put a kid it a 70's sprinter you would have been arrested. I know, adults drive them too; again, so what?

I saw outlaw carts run Western speedway faster than the Midgets in the late 60's, so what?

Mental note, backinerin= none.

I never said a word about not having enough money to race. Very few racers have enough money to race. 95% of them rely on donations and sponsorships. What I didnt have was time. Yes, I know most racers work a full time job, then stay up half the night repairing and preping the car for the next race. I've been around local race shops since I was 5 years old. I know the procedure. Racers have to have an understanding boss that lets them take off when it comes time to go racing or own their own business which doesn't require them to be there when the job needs to be done, whether it be during the week or on the weekend. Randy Anderson stayed home to replant crops and let Blake Feese race his car. I'm sure Randy would have much rather been at the track, but he did what he had to do to keep the farm on track. I guess you would have let the farm go to hell? I chose my career path and have no regrets. I've provided well for my children. Since the day my first child was born, providing for my children has been my top priority. As for this forum, it has always been an open forum. I've been here since the old message board in the 90's. If you don't like sharing this board with us low-life, know nothing, dumbass fans that pay the purse which makes your racing career possible, then go start your own forum where you can be the self annointed stud duck in the puddle. As I said earlier, I'm glad you're the exception and not the norm.

get in a Indy car, go 230 mph with your ass 1 inch off of the ground and see what you think now. Just a couple nascar drivers have tried Indy cars, it scared the crap out of them I love indy cars, but I like sprint car alot better. If a nascar race was on 1 side of the street, and a sprint car race was on the other side, I would go to sprint car races.

Attn: backinerin91 -- you are free here to express your opinion on the topic at hand ... but when you start attacking other users regarding their qualifications to speak their opinions with insults and derogatory language you are crossing a line you don't want to cross and are presenting yourself as a "poster child for what sucks about this forum".

Just a "semi-friendly warning" ... for now -- please refrain from using such a derogatory, condescending attitude toward others or you will unfortunately join the recently booted Mr. Cantina as a mere spectator of this sprint car racing discussion forum - and apparently you don't like spectators very much... wink
