sounded like a accident waiting to happen? I dont know the specifics and I never believe what I dont see, but, the people lined up a few hundred feet from the start? no guardrail? ever looked at the 500 foot time and speed of a quality drag car? Im really saddened buy this one , racing is suppose to be good, I push for its strong points for charities, troubled kids, animals, what have you, when related and effected buy good racers and events then something like this happens and its tuff not to crawl under a rock for a while ? my sympathy goes out to those involved and related with the terrible turn of events, as well as the driver, I dont know if I could ever be the same if it was me,? (have strength my friend) ,
Its troubleing ya know , to see this happen in america, lets not forget, after the Virginia Tech issue a rerporter stated our soldiers are lost in that number everyday !alot of them the same age! although not on our perfectly "A" ok american soil! thier still our children, friends, family and people ! thanks for putting things in perspective (reporter) , reality is , sorry we forget , sorry my hands are tied, sorry things end up this way, NOT SORRY TO BE A AMERICAN! glad i just purchased (another) American flag yesterday! tank you military personall, my sympathy to all involved !

It was just terrible mis-judgement on the part of those in charge of this car show an parade, to think it was a good idea to have an exhibition like this. To show the car is one thing,or even just having it running during the parade, but to have the driver do burn-outs at speed during the precsession is pure ignorance. A terrible shame.

Terrible, just terrible. Prayers for the injured and families of those killed. Just plain stupidity to have a drag car do that in a parade with people lining the street. Totally senseless.

Its so sad somethin like that has to happen I was just talking to Vern Moats a few weeks ago thats a Iowa legend in Funny Cars over the last 4 decades and was very famous for firing up his funny cars inside Vets Auditorium back in the 70's and 80's and doing holeshots out to the trailer, along with the rest of comp vehicles, he had just said damn all the crazy shit we did back in the day and how many people lined the streets to see the cars drive out on sunday nights standing maybe three feet away on each side how many people could of got hurt, And once in Carlisle iowa for a 4th of July parade Earl Binns the "fuelin farmer" from winterset actually had em sweep the streets and did an exabition run down the street during the 4th of July parade back in the 70's, if you look up Earl Binns theres a link to pictures of the 4th of July run down the street, wow the things people got away with back in the day. I feel so sorry for the crowd and the people watching that got hurt and killed just watching the parade that had no idea something like that was gonna happen,
