“East Texas Thunder 25” – June 9 at LoneStar Speedway

The temperature is starting to rise outside, and just in time for some hot racing action when the “East Texas Thunder 25” for Southern Thunder Sprints (STS) hits the high banks of LoneStar Speedway (LSS) on Saturday June 9th. There are purse increases throughout the field, and the 25-lap feature will pay all starters a minimum of $200 (to 24th).

Drivers can also choose to run the Southern Thunder Sprint (STS) or Sprint Series of Texas (SST) right rear tire – and that goes for all remaining RaceSaver® Sprint events at LoneStar in 2012.

The three LSS points divisions will also be racing a complete program of heats and features, including: Modifieds $1,000 to win, $500 to win for the Limited Modifieds and $300 to win for the Factory Stocks.

This is the second of three “Thunder on the High Banks” series events scheduled for 2012 at LSS, which have become a fan favorite due to rock bottom ticket price of just $10 for adults. This allows everyone a great night of racing at family-affordable prices.

Fans can expect STS drivers including: Alan Myers, Josh Hawkins, Cody Harger, Cody Robbins, Marty Hargroeder, Ty Johnson, Regan Hawkins, Matt Ebarb, Koty Adams and David Forbis.

And, due to the tire rule change and increased purse, several DFW area ‘invaders’ will certainly be on hand to take on the strong contingent of STS teams.

Here are some quick facts for the event:

-Grandstands open at 5pm, Hot Laps at 7pm with Racing to follow.
-Pits open at 4pm.
-General Admission just $10 (ages 12 and older). Tickets available at the gate on race day only.
-Kids (ages 6-11) just $5
-Ages 5 and under admitted free with adult admission
-Military or Seniors (Ages 65+) General Admission just $8
-Upgrade any ticket to the Reserved Section (bucket seats) for $5 per person
-If you purchase tickets with MasterCard or Visa, there is a $1/ticket processing fee.
-All Pit Passes $30.
-No outside food/drink coolers are allowed inside, a full selection of economically priced food concessions, including beer, are available.

The weather is looking great for tomorrow night's "East Texas Thunder 25" at LoneStar Speedway.

The area received some much needed precip the past few days and right now they're showing partly cloudy and 85 degrees at 7pm for race time, dropping into the upper 70's during the night.
